Can this be the most "northern" game yet ? Wink

Take lots of roadtrip pics, I'm pretty sure the Swedish country-side looks beautiful !

This could be nice in a way I think, I'm going here: http://www.hitta.se/LargeMap.aspx?var=karlskoga  F**K! looking on that map, it's not 500 km, it's 700 kms up and then back!

Okey, I'll rent the car for 24 hours, and going up and back should be possible in 24 hours... hmmmm

It's 500 km straight north from me (who is about as down south you can get) here in Sweden. Then It's the same 500 km back  Wink

Hopefully will have some nice pictures for you next sunday. It's a top find, a game I really like and that I used to play as a child. Never seen a dedicated Amidar before, seeing first the game and then the price made my mind up. I'll have to put it in the kitchen to begin with.

Might be able to put a few more arcades in the bedroom if I get a smaller bed in the future  lol

Now it's mine  Grin end price approx 70 and there will be a road trip this weekend.

I don't mind paying for the game, I don't mind renting a car, I don't mind driving 1000 kms (there and back).

but where will I put it? the apartment is filled up.. there's some space in the kitchen let's put it there and then I'll move around, after all it's my very own AMIDAR!!!

*does stupid joyfull dance*

50  General Chat / Arcade Lifestyle / Amidar on: October 19, 2009, 10:13:21 PM
Yo dudes!

I've found a dedicated Amidar, AND I CAN'T BELIVE MY EYES, THIS IS SOMETHING I WANT, AND I WANT IT BAD!!!! (http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?game_id=6883) that is not in perfect shape (bad sound etc), It's 500 km away and I'm looking into what a car rental would be for a station wagon, asked price (first out in some kind of bid high, auction thingy) is (blush) 50 - and that (and double and tripple and even more I could pay for a dedicated Amidar).

there are a few other guys intested (that live more close by).

Anyone? what is a good price for and Amidar cab (and, Boy- do I want one, they where all gerneric once when I was small), and how much is to much for 500 km of road trip (and back?)

That saves both time and money. It looks nice as well. Sometime it's good to go with the KISS principle
52  General Chat / Arcade Lifestyle / Re: Higscore database - Puckman/PacMan week! on: October 18, 2009, 11:05:58 PM
No scores from anyone, not here and not in Arkadtorget.se - so it's cheap for me to not have to deliver prices.

Did not even beat my own highscore, I'll just have to play even more  Ghost

Price approx 400.

edit: said puckman is also mine and filled up the car for the last road trip. but that is NOT for sale.

I have this thing for Highscores  Roll Eyes

What if there was a Highscore database online, where you could enter your scores, and with an open API so that the different gamesites around the net could make "localized" versions for there games and in the sameway you could make a personallist to display in your game rooom?

If there where a gamemeeting/event or something, you just pick the games played, the players and you could generate an event highscore. This would also let you compare scores between events, compare your game room to world records etc etc.

We've had some ideas about it in sweden (at Arkadtorget.se) and we think we need a list of arcade games (there is a PCB DB being made in Japan, there is Klov and there is the list from Mame).

Something to tie things together and still with an open solution thingy so that you could make the highscore lists you like..

Does that sound like something you like?

Maybe I should put my word where my mouth is and try to build a prototype to show off  Exclamation

Reminds me of my childhood, late 70's with boothill, circus, that periscope game, Sprint/driver, pong/breakout (with the lovely impression of color by sticking colored plastic tape to a B&W monitor).

I think that games from that time are my favorite memories, but they don't quiet keep up to standards (like, if you play them you see how much the suck - kind of like with Colecovision arcade convertions, that I remember as perfect from the time that makes me cry nowdays) - best kept as memories as I play slightly newer games (but nothing modern).

was that just jibberish or did that make sense?

ps. There are still some Atari 2600 games I play at least once a year, so just being old don't mean it sucks.. *cough* River Raid *cough*

Nice to meet you all, I've been lurking here for awhile so I'm not totally new.

They are spread out around the apartment, I'll try to snap some pictures that shows off the games but hides the mess.

and no one up for a little puckman?  Roll Eyes
