We just delivered the first of our new cabinets to a client:
These are bought by an art/design school in Eindhoven to show work of students game design. The one on the left is totally in Rotex-finished aluminium in lineseed oil, the one on the right is partially powdercoated.
Woody Pianoshack did the Space Harrier tune on Dexed, a virtual version of the legendary DX7 synthesizer by Yamaha. The original SH cab had a similar but slightly simplified synth chip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JouAAnfzMTU
He says he has paypal, but he wants me to pay, and then you have no buyer protection. As it is something that is rare, I want to be sure if it is not fake.
I saw a post about Collectors Quest 9 on FB. Florent Gorges visits collectors in Europe. Episode 9 seems to be a visit to an arcade cab collector. What is stuoid about the site: no information on the programs. Just pay and then find out if you get what you expected. Anyway, does it feature any of the DLF members?
I see a lot of traffic moving from forums to FB. But it comes with both serious issues and benefits.
Pro's on FB: - You can see who's the fans. People don't hide behind some fancy Streetfighter character name all the time. It's easier to meet IRL. - Very easy to upload photo's and video's
Cons - The linear character. There is no structure, no tree-like ordering of stuff - Many groups are flooded with boring poll questions: what is your favourite.... choose x or y. What do you play tonight. - You either end up visiting all groups as separate thing (I went to that option) or all your group activity gets mixed with the family and other topics. You basically need to unfollow the groups and visit them every few days. Similar to picking your DLF bookmark in the browser.
