to say the truth I had some difficulties to understand how to troubleshoot a chip with the generic golden card (http://www.torontosurplus.com/test-equipment-1/analyzers-1/logic/hp-10529a-20005-agilent-10529a-20005-blank-boards-for-10529a-logic-comparator.html ), but it works great with the expansion (Socket adapter board with ZIF socket)

I started from this condition:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9h0c9qYkZM

in some positions some vertex were drawn in a wrong position no so far from the original.

After some checks the problem was in a faulty 74194 (4-BIT BIDIRECTIONAL UNIVERSAL SHIFT REGISTERS) in position N4: Secondary accumulator, logic block 3

Wow, great looking cab and game. I envy you. Congratulations with this one, could be the star on eurocade.  ;)

thank you!

sorry but to rent a van to pick up a cabinet for the eurocade is too expansive for me
If i had a vad I could think about that :)

It's a long time I don't organize a VASP (Vernimark Arcade Summer Party). if some of you think it's a good opportunity to come in italy I can organize it

yes it was in very good shape when i found it... all cabs in that warehouse were in good conditions, but too expensive for me, about 300 euros each in not working conditions. I took two: star hawk and crash

what I did:
- monitor changed
- pcb changed (now it's working with a vectorbeam board but i'm working on the original)
- a little work to the coin door
- joystick refurbished with bycicle grips (hehe) and new fire buttons (thanks to andysarcade.de for buttons)
(original joystick were removed and stored inside the cabinet...)
- t moulding glued in some parts
- some metal parts derusted

I started from this condition:

First of all I replaced original ROMS with a couple of 2716

a couple of wires are enough to adapt 2716 pinout to 9316’s

then, following the block diagram, I began to test the “line len.” Block and I could immediately see that one of 74193 had been replaced in the past. Removing it I found some broken circuit tracks, so with an easy fix now I can see this:

Everything now works. I’ll post cabinet pictures once restoration is finished (just a couple of wires to the coin door and a small part of t-moulding to replace)

thank you,

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to meet Natale Zaccaria, one of three Zaccaria Brothers I met him during an A.C.M.I meeting http://www.acmi.ws/ (Italian association of automatic machines manufacturers). He is very  nice and smiled when I told him some collectors consider him like a videogame history milesone :)... I hadn't the courage to ask him a photo together but I promise you next time I'll try :D

very interesting... I'd like to come

I found this cabinet:

but probably in few months I'll have not enough space for it so I'd like to restore it, play a bit, probably have a party with it like "special guest"  :P and then Id like to find a new family for that child...
