once again, another popular "how to ...???" topic  ;)

here's the question of the day:

which router tool is the best for "digging" holes into wood for e.g. a coin door or speakers?

bruno always shows us THAT he is "digging" holes like on his gauntlet "workshop" https://www.dragonslairfans.com/smfor/index.php?topic=6.msg83#msg83, but which tool do i have to install into the router to do so?

pictures / item descriptions would be perfect!

does anyone have an idea where i can get something like this:

you simply peel off the back covering and glue it to the wood - no need to "dig a hole" with the router. www.t-molding.com carries this in black, but i would need other colours., too.

@bruno: by the way, the black version that www.t-molding.com has on offer is EXACTLY the black molding used on the pleiads cab (which you covered with black adhesive from the DL cab). I have a sample of it at home and it fits EXACTLY.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to find a 19'' plastic monitor bezel for my pleiads cab in Germany (thought somebody should have one, but no success). It's pretty expensive to import one from the USA, so I'm trying my luck here:

WANTED: 19'' Plastic Monitor Bezel - does anyone have a spare one for sale???

Well then, here we go, operation “pleaids – back to life” is about to begin …

Following this ebay-auction …



... a good friend of mine (named Alex) and myself (named Ully) set off from a little town in Southern Germany to one of the Southernmost cities of our country called Konstanz to bring back the beauty that is

PLEIADS (with Truxton II inside and a horrible control panel)

A roadtrip of almost 300 km (one-way), but who cares?  ;)

To make things worthwhile and to do something for our eduction (even teachers have to educate themselves), we decided to make a small detour of roughly 50 km across the German border and into Switzerland to pay a visit to the widest plain European waterfalls - the Rhinefalls. What a beauty and what a natural wonder, even in winter!

What kind of spray / fluid are you using to lubricate your tracksballs? I've just received my marble madness kit and - besides from being full of dirt and old grease - these trackballs could really use some new lubricant. So: what is the "tool of the day"?

I know, I know, there are a lot of "how to discharge a monitor manuals" to be found on the net, but either they include using pretty expensive tools (high voltage probe) or they seem to be pretty dangerous (simply stick a screwdriver under the anode).
What I'd be interested in: how do you guys discharge your monitors, what kind of tools are you using, how save is your procedure? On the forum here I've seen some cool looking handmade discharge tools and I'd be interested to learn from the masters  ;)

another "how to" topic - here we go:

My Missile Command cardboard bezel is pretty beat up, that's why I want to repaint it to cover all those "anomalies". However, I'm not sure what kind of paint to use because - after all - this is cardboard, and not wood. My fear is that using the wrong paint might damage the cardboard even more. The cardboard is coated on one side (glossy), so I'm not even sure where it will "absorb" the color (does it stick to the cardboard?). So here's my question:

What kind of paint would you use / recommend for painting a cardboard bezel?

First of all a happy new year from Germany and a big HELLO as a new member of this forum to everyone around here!

But let's get right to business, just a short question:

What is the best method to sand metal plates like coin doors, I mean: how do you get the paint off of larger metal objects? Are you doing this manually, what kind of tools are you using, which liquids / fluids are worth buying, ...
