Arcade Lifestyle / Going classic on Android Tablet
« on: May 02, 2013, 04:36:39 PM »
Few months back I've bought myself an Archos gamepad ( http://www.archos.com/products/themed/gamepad/index.html?country=us&lang=en#a ) running Android 4.1. After installing the MAME4droid-app and the adapted romset I was surprised how smooth the tablet was running the games and how easy it was with the analog controls on the tablet to play those classic games.
Today I finaly decided to buy the Dragon's Lair game for Android, just not 5€ in googles App-store. Man, this really rocks, almost original gameplay, very nice graphics and once again, with the analog controls a real pleasure to play. So today, once again, I've got transported back to the 80's and this with a modern high tech machine  ;)

'Business' Area : Buy/Sell/Trade / some stuff...
« on: March 13, 2011, 08:57:19 AM »
Hi to all. Because I will be rebuilding my house and I don't have time for this arcade-hobby anymore I want to get rid of most of my stuff. I have some PCB's, some were working a few years ago but I didn't test them recently, 3 generic-cabs WIMI-style (one has a new 19" monitor) and a "Space Chaser"-cab (not working, no pcb, with manual).
The PCB's: Roller Aces (not tested), Super Space invaders '91 (should be working), City Connextion (not working), Gyrus (not tested), Rambo 3 (should be working), Olympic (should be working), Ninja Gaiden (should be working), Vollyball (not tested), Moon Ranger (should be working), Karate Champ (should be working).
About the price... let me see... as I don't know if everything is working or not I give them for free, just one condition: take it all and see what you can do with it.
Location of this all: Belgian Coast, near to the French border

The website gamesradar writed an article called :

"The Top 7 ... Damsels you DON'T want to save"

...and guess what ? Princess Daphne is on the top of that list  ...Can you believe it ?
Just for fun, have a look here ...

Ok, ok, maybe they have a point but isn't it just a part of the games magic, Daphne doesn't get older she's always gonna look she did when she was "born". Sure wish I had someone looking like her next to me when I wake up in the morning but then that would only be for a few years (or just a bit longer... lol).
So if those guys think they can spoil the fun in my dreams... no way dudes, I will always like Daphne till the day I die, amen.

Technical Area / TV as monitor via scart: how to connect?
« on: January 12, 2007, 05:06:31 PM »
I really like the idea to use a scart-tv as a monitor, but I want to know how to connect the TV (RGB-, sync-wires etc.) in a jamma or non-jamma cab. I don't want to blow up my new TV-set(s)!!!

Technical Area / Monitor color problem
« on: September 14, 2006, 12:35:42 AM »
Hi to all of you, I have a maybe strange problem: on my arcade cabinet I have some color problems, it looks like there's to much green in it. I've tried to change it by tweeking the colors but it doesn't help. I think it must be a general problem with those brand of arcade-monitors because I had the same problem a few years ago with that same brand of monitor, it's an Intervideo VP210. With the first monitor I did'nt work on it, to sceared to put a hand on it, so I sold the damn thing with the cabinet.
Does any of you have an idea what could cause that problem and would it possible to repair it?

All the rest / just a question on pcb-parts
« on: January 03, 2006, 07:54:51 PM »
Hi darthnuno, nice to see you've got the Tron-cab work'n. :D
I saw you've installed new roms on your Tron-pcb and you were talk'n about let'n it repaired by some kind of arcade-repair-shop.
My question is: I have some classic pcb's in my collection that don't work anymore and I was wonder'n if it would be possible to give the adres of that  repaire-shop or where you've got the roms.
I've already tried to order some of those parts by SUZO/HAPP but they don't seem to be verry cooperative when they hear I'm not a profesional.
