3,95 euro at flipperwinkel.nl

Ah I have heard the Philips ram does not work in the old video games so those are not suitable but thanks for pointing them out

Hi guys looking for some good 5101 ram? I bought some philips branded stuff from China but it's not up to the job! this is for a Nintendo video game pcb and not for pinball so the boards have a few of them fitted. best I can find is in the states but expensive shipping plus import duties put me off.

Thanks Ronnie

Very nice rare example! very lucky you have one, well done.

It looks to me to be a screen fault or the screen volts are too high! I would try remove the rgb cable from screen to see if blue is still showing?

If it is then it's a screen fault, if screen is dark try to remove the sound board cables all of them but with rgb plugged back in, game will still run but with no starfield or sound, tell us the results?

Thanks Ronnie

Paul, the instruction card looks like it has a bit chopped off at the top? as the bottom black wraps round the card! maybe it was slightly too big and that was done to get all the writing in the window? Be good if we could get that fixed before printing?

When I've had repro's on Plexiroll I've sandwiched between two thin sheets, yes. It's a little bit thicker than the original single sheet but so far all the cabs have accommodated it as the tolerances have been quite wide.
Paul.

Thanks Paul, I thought as much, hopefully I won't buy anything else and that will give me time to work n it come the summer

I'm still a long way from doing anything with this game but was thinking about the bezel art, as it would be on the top of the bezel rather than underneath would I need to sandwich it with 2 thinner pieces of Perspex?

Thanks Ronnie

Just ordered the Midway Space Invaders CPO  :spaceace:

Loved the video.

Yes me too! the one above is mine, Etienne is indeed a star, he has sorted out all my artwork for my current projects, so glad I found his services. And his youtube videos show how much hours go into his work, brilliant.

Technical Area / Midway Space invaders help!
« on: August 06, 2015, 09:59:09 AM »
I need some advice and help please to fix this board! bit of a long story but here goes, the game was working but had some dots top right which would come and go or it would get dots all over the screen and go mad then reset, or at the same time the invaders would step down rapid like without moving left to right. But then it might work fine for hours?

Anyway thinking it was a ram issue I bought a braze kit for it and fitted it today it passed the ram test and worked great for about an hour then the above started happening but it would still reset and pass the ram test etc. But now it constantly resets with the braze fitted it just goes over the screen test and never reaches ram test? so I removed the braze kit and it will show the start screen " let's play space invaders" as soon as that is written it resets and does the same thing over and over? All the voltages read good I even checked the 5v on one of the chips, I have replaced the cpu socket today and even tried another cpu! so I'm stuck now! not sure what to check? any advice welcome and appreciated as I'm on a downer what with the Asteroids Deluxe not working eitherOuch

Thanks Ronnie
