1  General Chat / 'Business' Area : Buy/Sell/Trade / Re: Fitter 'Restoration' - Artwork on: December 14, 2021, 10:32:10 PM
I didn't see any comments on interest in repro. artwork for this game....but I thought I'd update anyway.

I'm moving forward with getting the artwork reproduced, and may have the print company do the prep.  Waiting to see how much that is going to cost.

If you think you are interested in a set, OR even individual piece(s) - please drop me a line here or directly. Obviously just asking about interest, which is always pending pricing, etc.

Digimon - I could also use some help with the dimensions of the viewport on the control panel overlay (where the instruction card shows through), if you think you could locate / get access to your machine for additional information like these measurements.

Thanks Digimon for taking the time to respond, and offer to help.

Hey folks.

Been a long time since I've posted here.

I was fortunate to find a Fitter up just outside of Hamilton, ON from a gentleman who used to live in the Netherlands and brought the cabinet with him to Canada when he emigrated.

The cabinet has the more generic stars Zaccaria bezel, and a Comidar overlay.  No original artwork outside of the sides of the cabinet (no marquee, bezel or overlay)

We're so fortunate that Paul Swan has contributed so much from his restorations - that the scans are at least available to work from.

So - Initial questions are three fold:

* Has anyone already reproduced artwork for this game?
* (If not) Is anyone willing to lend a hand if needed - color matching, or possibly temporarily lending unused pieces for color matching, matching dimensions?
* Longshot - If anyone has any artwork they'd be open to sell, drop me a PM

I don't think I'll find artwork, so will likely have it made.  I've worked with a local (to Indianapolis, IN - USA) shop previous to reproduce Universal Snap Jack overlays and instruction cards that were reverse, UV printed and laser cut.  I know I can reach out to them again.

I could make a couple of sets of artwork for folks that are interested.  NOTE - A long ways off.  Got the game yesterday, haven't even seriously looked Paul's scans yet to assess what is needed.

Looking forward to hearing thoughts / feedback.

Zaccaria Space Pirate Marquee vector recreation. Source reference Images provided by Olav Øverland.

Vectors done from images (photos) or scans?

Understand the complexity of scans for Zacc pieces, but still want to clarify.

Always look forward to looking through these, thanks for continuing to take the time to put them together.

I didn't realize Erik wasn't collecting at all anymore.  But, it has been over 10 years since I last exchanged emails with him...

A photo of the cabinet...
9  General Chat / 'Business' Area : Buy/Sell/Trade / WTB: Universal Zero Hour boardset on: June 03, 2020, 04:11:38 PM
Hey all,

I picked up a Zero Hour two weeks ago in decent shape - but the only thing it is missing is the boardset. Its my understanding these may be a bit hard to find.

If any of you have one that you'd be willing to part with please let me know.  Given the distance, a 'trade' may be hard - but I may have some things of interest to work out a trade as well.  From my own perspective, I know it can be hard to part with some things.

I did reach out to Marco already, as he is THE Universal guy - I'm checking on all possible avenues.

This is Universal cabinet #9 for me, this isn't a game I plan on selling anytime soon - FWIW.

13  General Chat / 'Business' Area : Buy/Sell/Trade / White Universal T-Molding is here! on: March 08, 2019, 02:57:04 PM
The small batch run of completely flat, White Universal reproduction T-Molding arrived this week! Here is the original interest thread on Klov.

The specs on the dimensions of the t-molding:

- 27/32" Wide
- 1/16" Thick

This will typically work in the following list of Universal machines that have used white t-molding.

- Cheeky Mouse
- Cosmic Alien
- Cosmic Guerilla
- Cosmic Monsters
- Cosmic Monsters II
- Devil Zone
- Galaxy Wars
- Magical Spot

Attached is a profile drawing illustrating the tmolding dimensions, and here is an album showing the t-molding installed in my Cosmic Guerilla and Magical Spot.

Universal T-Molding Photos - Installed

All prices do not include shipping, add shipping on top:

1' - $3.00
1 Foot sample, good for testing before purchasing an entire set

18' - $29.00
This is enough to cover a machine + extra where the tmolding stops at the marquee

26' - $36.00
This is enough to cover a machine + extra where the tmolding wraps down the entire back side of the machine.  On the machines I've seen, each side takes about ~7' in the front, and an additional ~5' feet to run from the top of the bracket down the back of the game.  ~12 ft ea. side in total.

Important Notes
All sales are final.  I will not be accepting any returns.

The construction of the Universal machines can vary widely, as the folks who tested the t-molding initially can attest.

Before placing an order, make sure to do the following:

* Measure the t-molding in your machine to ensure the 27/32" size is what you have on your machine
* Confirm how the channels are cut on your machine - to marquee, to the top, around the back - to know the length of tmolding you need

If you are still unsure, please purchase the 1' sample and do a test before purchasing an entire set.

Contact Me
I will be launching a store in the coming week to take orders.  In the meantime, send me any requests at rothecreations@gmail.com and I'll do my best to answer any questions.

Thank you for taking some of your time to check on that for me! I appreciate it a ton.
15  General Chat / Arcade Lifestyle / Re: Formula 2000 - Arcade Game? on: July 17, 2018, 08:37:07 PM
Thank you, I appreciate it.

In some basic searching at the common culprits, I haven't found any information yet.  If you happen to have a board and can find a manufacturer, that would be wonderful.  Any additional info on the PCB would be icing.
