I dream that one day we will have a few places like this all around Europe,  a great Arcade Tour  :D

There should be an arcade pilgrimage route through Europe. All you're allowed to carry with you is some coins, all you're allowed to drink is beer. :)

'Business' Area : Buy/Sell/Trade / Final Fight POPs
« on: November 09, 2013, 04:19:39 PM »
Hi there,

as some of you might know Final Fight POPs were originally enclosed with the PCB-kits from Capcom, unfortunately most of them got lost over the years and now only one known human being on earth seems to have one. I did a small reprint edition with lasercutted figures. Imo it's a nice gamerrom accessoire. :)

Price including tracked shipping (worldwide) will be 38 Euros.

What you will get:

A complete Final Fight POP-unit
- the display
- the 2 figures
- two sushi food sticks :D

Building:
You'll have to cut the display out with a razor or something and then use a bonefolder or a not so sharp knife to fold it (along the white lines). After that it has to be glued together. The sushi sticks ought to be taped on the backside of the figures. I used a pointed pencil to prick through the display (the smaller the hole the better the sticks will fit).
Think it's pretty self-explanatory (see the pics below). Of course feel free to ask if you need help. :)

Finished:

Totally underastimated too is it's successor. I don't get it, Robotron, Smash TV + Total Carnage are all great games. Probably the two modern versions get no love because of the strange controls?

I'd kill for this cabinet! It was one of my first arcade impressions. We were on holidays in Canada in 1991 and while my grandparents did some shopping I discovered a small arcade in a mall. I instantly spent my whole pocket money on Smash TV. ;D

Alway since then I wanted this cab..!  :'( :D

I'd definitely buy a Smash TV cabinet. Never seen one in Europe, this might be my only chance.

Don't think I will be able to track down one of the buttons ever. Worst part bugging me is the crack and the cigarette burns (for fucks sake - who is doing this??). Bezel and Control panel are one piece. I was thinking about rebuilding the lower part:

Cut the lower part, replace it, leave the upper part. There would be a thin line then... Dunno if I should do this... :P

Think I could manage it for 800 shipped to Trier. ;)
I'll talk to my friend if you're interested.

Since the cabinet will be part of the collection in the OCM museum, I will hardly ever play it. Nonetheless it's dull but straight fun. :)

:D

Should be no problem with a 3D-printer...

BTW: Did the german instructions (57 MB, 300dpi printable):

The cabinet was sold as untested. After the cleaning I double checked all connections and voltages.
Tadahhh :) :

To do list:
- rebuild the instructions
- maybe rebuild the bezel/control panel unit (not sure if I really want to do it…)

Getting deeper into the dedicated stuff. Some friendly guy from the german Arcadezentrum sold me a Tank Battalion a while ago Thanks Andreas!!!). Last week the shipping agency finally made my dream come true. :)

I really thought I have to put massive action in the restauration after getting some pics:

But after some cleaning it turned out the cabinet was pretty much in perfect condition (despite the obvious big crack on the bezel/control panel unit:
