Arcade Lifestyle / Joust to Robotron conversion
« on: February 19, 2015, 09:29:55 AM »
Got this cabinet for (almost) free and my first thought was: Fuck, what do I do with it? No monitor, no marquee, no joysticks, no buttons and the cabinet is almost half eaten up by wood worms. And last but not least: I hate Joust. ::) ;D

I have to confess that my first thought was to convert it to a Final Fight , I have a complete artset and always wanted a FF cab. But after a little brainstorming with arcade buddies and some searching I realized that the cabinet used to be a Robotron once (or at least it has the Robotron/Bubbles cabinet shape). After 10 years of searching I finally got my hands on a Smash TV cabinet so why not go for some more Eugene Jarvis awesomeness? :)

Artwork / Marquee printing - what material?
« on: January 16, 2015, 11:22:11 AM »
This must have been discussed a hundred times, but I really haven't found anything. On what material do you guys usually get your marquees printed on? I tried backlit material but the colours look way too weak (especially the blacks!). I also tried normal vinyl prints but they're not as translucent as the originals.

So, where's the trick? A link or the correct term of the material would be awesome. :)

Technical Area / Attaching of marquee foils?
« on: November 30, 2014, 11:59:30 AM »
Hi,

this must be a somehow dumb question but I really need the expertise of you guys here. Ever since I'm into collecting arcade stuff I wondered what to do with these original marquee foils. I have quite a few of them lying around by now and never really cared but now I need to know because of a Galaga 88 cab that needs a marquee (btw: thanks DarthNuno :)). Sooo, are these foils meant to be attached onto glass or acrylic glass? I always had the impression there must be a way to build "real" marquess (meaning the unit of marquee foil and (acrylic) glass) with them. But as these foils are not stickers maybe they're meant to be attached by heat? Or glue? Water? Love?

I really can't believe they were meant to be put behind bare glass, as I think it would look weird, but of course I might be mistaken. Maybe someone knows? :)

« on: September 08, 2014, 04:04:41 PM »
I have 4 of them for sale, all have RGB-bnc-plugs, best 15k picture ever, very low running times (between 10.000 and 20.000 hrs.). The OSD covers every (and I mean EVERY, even the most anal) aspect of picture adjustment. Each monitor includes a Sony BKM-10R control unit in a rack.
150 Euros each, pickup in Hamburg (Germany) only.

'Business' Area : Buy/Sell/Trade / For sale: SEGA Net City
« on: August 19, 2014, 09:40:28 AM »
SEGA Net City, original japanese candy, not a Naomi-conversion. Best monitor I've ever owned and seen. :)
The cab is now too new for my collection as I'm mostly into 80ies stuff now. Also I could need some space for more woodies. :)
Overall condition is pretty good, some minor scratches but really nothing serious, hope you can see it on the pics, the overall impression is newish.

- NANAO MS 2933 (15, 24, 31 Khz, autoswitch, with OSD)
- absolutley no burn
- built in 220/110V stepdown
- all keys
- new buttons, new balltops
- Jamma (selfmade with Blast City Jamma-harness) + JVS
- original manual

Pickup near Bremen in Germany. I can put bubble wrap and cardboard around the cab and put it on a pallet, shipping must be organized by the buyer (location is 26197 Ahlhorn, Germany)

899 Euros
