16  General Chat / High Score - Are you the best ... around? / Re: Q*bert hi scores on: June 21, 2015, 07:38:53 PM
Here is an update  Grin

This time I tried to remember the scores: After finishing Level 9 the average score should be 280k to 290k
Level 9 alone scores 25k - 30k.

Here is my score.

I've completed Level 9. After that, Level 9 repeats until all your Q-Berts are gone.
I think, i've played Level 9 three times for that score.

Is there a possibility to have a Oculus Rift Demo-Setup running at Eurocade 15?
Never had the chance to get a grip on one.....
Ok, not really retro, but...... Wink

Man, that brings up warm memories of my childhood, especially the infamous 'cyan-magenta-white' color-palette.... Grin

Hey guys, calm down  Grin
I checked the vaults: The Power Brick fits (lacks a fuseholder, minor problem). AR-Board: I've got only the Type-II ones, but they should fit, too.

And of course, Tyrem, you can have them Grin

Sad News.
Fall Guy was broadcasted in Germany in the Mid-80ties. It was german-dubbed, of course: 'Ein Colt für alle Fälle'  Liked it very much.

We will arrange a 'grand reopening party' in the near future

The 'simple' task of just placing two standard-office- 20ft-containers behind our existing gameroom turned out 'not so simple' craftswise  roll eyes

But now its done and the only remaining parts are cosmetic and decoration issues. Cabs moved in already.

Thematically we decided to put in only cabs produced till 1980, so there are many B/W-Cabs, some Vector Cabs and as Colour-Games: PacMan and Galaxian.

Here are some teaser pics:

29  General Chat / Arcade Lifestyle / Re: # Road Trip # KASCO - THE DRIVER - ...it's a game with a red car, movie style... on: October 15, 2014, 01:53:31 PM
Thats right. We still got some spare film reels with different tracks.
Alas, the seat is missing, too.

Hmm, since our last project reaches its final stage.... let get this beast in.  Grin

and: there is no Monitor, so no monitor-problems Roll Eyes

Today we took a closer look at the PCB. One of the 7474 TTL for left player was sick. Replaced it, Game worked (...for nearly an hour). The the screen went dark  Angry
Fortunately no Monitor- but a small Video-Output-Issue. Ok, replace of the faulty 7410. Voila, works again. Now some little sound-hazard. The NE555 for second player died.
But after fixing it with a new one, everything is fine again. Lets see how long.

Same Problems with our Midway cabs. The Space encounter lost his 'tunnel', hmpf. Guided Missile got wrong vertical lines in the picture (Shifter-Problem)

Maybe these very old games from the Mid-Seventies are reaching their final days. I read somewhere, that the TTL-ICs have a limited lifespan of approx. 40 Years

Hopefully we can keep the old bastards alive for some more years.
