1802  General Chat / Artwork / Looking for the Artwork from Hyper Olympic on: October 12, 2012, 02:19:25 PM
Maybe you guys can help me. I want to turn my Hellomat into a Hyper Olympic-Cab.

I do need pretty much all of the artwork so I can start my mission.
Is there a source for good highres-pics? Id have nothing against buying it... but since it has to fit the Hellomat I guess I have to start with my very own reproduction.

Any help would be appreciated. Smiley

I have the Hellomat, I own the board. Whats missing is an original Panel fr Hyper Olympic.
Is there anybody here who owns one?

Would love to buy it. Smiley

And thank you, guys. I did not expect such a nice reaction from you. Smiley

Stefan

Huh? Huh?  why not ? we are nice guys right ?  Grin

no doubt about that. Wink
its just that this project was such an easy one. if i look at all the scratch builds or renovations for example... i am quite ashamed. Smiley

Congratulations on the nice job! Smiley
I must admit that I thought it was quite ugly before you did your magic, but now it looks great! Grin

Yeah... it was. But it reminded me of my childhood and it was not that expensive so I thought I could give it a try.

And thank you, guys. I did not expect such a nice reaction from you. Smiley

Hey Tyrem,

nice to see another Atari guy around here. Die Welt, oder besser das Internet, ist wirklich ein Dorf  Smiley.

Gerry (The Thalion Source)

Hey Gerry,

great to see you here. Smiley Yeah... the old ST-dudes. I just infected Jochen Hippel with the arcade-virus. I gave him my other Donkey Kong-cab and now he is totally in love with those old machines. I am sure that we will post more in the future.

Greetings from The Respectables Wink

I like it too, just the combi Donkey kong art and Crazy kong inside is a bit strange to me, but still cool!

The problem is: This cab actually was for real back when I was a little boy. We had this very same machine in a burger shop in my streets. It really had the Donkey Kong-artwork and the Crazy Kong PCB. I remember it because of the jump-easter egg in the first level. As far as I know this trick does not work with DK, right?

I took the Donkey Kong-artwork for two reasons:

1. I really dont like the Crazy Kong-sidearts
2. The control-panel came with the DK-artwork

It made sense to me to do a Crazy Donkey Kong-machine. Smiley

A few weeks ago I got this cute little cab from Paul via ebay.

It was still in a not so bad shape. Dirty as hell of course, the pcb was not working right (the graphics were messed up, sound was wrong and Mario did not want to climb any ladders at all).
I still liked the cab a lot and wanted to keep it for myself.

I did not want to change too much on the cab. Did not want to paint it because that would probably ruin it forever. Cheesy So I decited to clean it frist. I bought myself a new Crazy Kong-pcb, new locks (the old ones were totally messed up) and microswitches. I made some stickers for it and today I got the last ones for the "bezel". I had the idea to make a semi-one because after i applied the sidestickers something was still missing, at least for me.

So this it what it looks now. Nothing I can be too proud of... but I love how it turned out. My very own Crazy Kong/Donkey Kong.

Nice catch, does it have the original pcb?

yeah.. but it has a grafix error. Sad
also... for some reason "up" does not work. i changed the microswitch... no effect. maybe the wires... but the looked ok to me.
anybody here who can help me with the pcb?
