Hi guys,

i have the Chance to get a Pole Position II Bootleg called Turbo Racer.

I have never heard about such a bootleg, so I am searching for informations about it to get my new Pole Position Cab to run;-)

1 - it's a three part PCB.

2 - The GFX ROMS are Pole Position II (Namco) the other ROMS are not identified by Mame/Romident.

3 - some of the ROMS are missing, so I am in the need of Turbo Racer Roms to make it run

« on: January 05, 2014, 02:05:48 PM »
Hi guys,

as mentioned in Ullys thread, here are my Xmas PCBs.

at Xmas I've bought 4 untested Zaccaria PCBs - I have had no Chance to let them go to someone unknown;-)

I think they are not complete, but maybe good for Fixing some other PCBs if needed.

If you have hints what's missing it would be gentle ;)

A - one Astro Wars PCB

b - one Quasar PCB

c - two Galaxia PCBs

Arcade Lifestyle / Mini Roadtrip - but in the Pole
« on: January 03, 2014, 05:11:09 PM »
Hi Guys,

at the end of 2013 I have bought my second Pole Position, now was the time to take it home.

It was only 32km from door to door, the Cab was in the heart of Hamburg the "Schanzenviertel" in an Office of a small Web-Site-Creator Company:

so looks my office this morning:

just an lonely PP Cab;-( - but you can see my custom creeper dolly

the cab fitted perfectly on the dolly: I have rolled 100m on the street;-)

and in the Car:-)

after 1h I was back at home;-)

and so it looks like (outside)

inside:

and thats what I found inside:

a complete Manual in good shape with PCB shematics:

an unused set of Stickers:

and so the look togehter:) I hope the like each other...

Technical Area / someone recognizes this Pinout?
« on: June 23, 2013, 01:49:16 PM »
 ???

Hi guys, I just wanted to play Wonderboy in a cab that is in my Garage since two years;-)

so I moved it in my Office, to start the cleaning and so on. I thougt there should be a Konami Pinout in the Cab, because it's an universal Zacc (of course)

but I found an (for me) unknown 22 Pinout. Starting with the Sega typicall GNG / 5V, but then nothing fits.

I only measured the GND, 5V and 12V pinouts.

Someone has an idea about the conversion class?  or knows a site where to filter about the number of Pins?

here is how it looks like:

Hi gents,

today I wanted to place the new afterburner deluxe PCB in my non working Thunderblade cage.

to my surprise they don't have the same internal cabling;-(
I looked at vernimarks old photos of his PCBs and they look different from mine;-(

I thougt i only have to change the PCBs in the metal cage, but now I am not sure.

maybe someone can make a photo of a running PCB cabling?

here how the look like:

Thunderblade (non working) (maybe because of the cabling?)

Afterburner deluxe (should work) but I don't no how to cable it ;(

Technical Area / Pole Position Monitor FREQ Problem
« on: May 25, 2013, 05:03:22 PM »
Hi Guys,

I have a problem with my Pole Position Monitor.  Electrohome / Vicotr Chassis G07.

all my PCBs have a stable screen (even with defect PCB;-)

but my working PCB gives a running picture like this. looks like a 60hz screen an a 50Hz Monitor

I am not able to adjust the screen, but I found this in a manual:

My "Jumpers" are both the left position. Anyone knows if it is a solution to switch them to the right? I found nothing in den manual about positioning;-(

Arcade Lifestyle / Roadtrip - Zaccaria Hyper Olympics
« on: May 22, 2013, 11:21:51 PM »
Hi gents,

on saturday i bought a cheap Zaccaria Hyper Olympic Universal Cab.

It was only 50km from home, so I startet after the breakfast.

I have to drive to the north, direction to denmark and the sea, so there a a lot of boats on the Autobahn

I was there in 20 min on the road

and there is the cab with the seller

a very kind guy, he owned the cab for 20years and was happy it comes it good hands

the cab has only 14000 games on the counter, but he has never openend the backdoor!

it fits perfect in my car

so back to Hamburg

a look inside, only the fan is missing

and an original, working Konami PCB inside;-)

everthing works fine, I only have to fix the RED in the monitor chassis

the Cp is in good shape! that was the thing i really looked for!

and the best, I got 13DM with the cab;-)

so overall a good deal, and another Zacc in my Zaccarde.

Hi guys,

Anyone with an Afterburner II, or a thunderblade PCB around?

Thanks

Arcade Lifestyle / Pole Position Upright - Roadtrip
« on: February 24, 2013, 05:48:26 PM »
Hi Guys,

now it was the time to catch my Pole Position upright.

it was a good deal, so i couldn't resist. Typically I don't like racing games. But this was the one I played most.

I have to ride 200km from Hamburg near Wolfsburg, and I wasn't sure if the cab fits in my touran.

I started early in the snowy dark morning:

as always I have to pass the Elbtunnel:

It's always good to know there will be enough energy for our hobby:

short breakfast:

good to know bigger cars are available nearby:

but it fits perfect:

back at home, 6h later:

and here it is:

I think I need a new sticker, from the repro run;-(

the screen is working, but I think there will be some work with the PCB:

Arcade Lifestyle / Pole Position upright - price question
« on: January 04, 2013, 11:51:00 PM »
Hi,

A friend of mine offered me a Pole Position upright cabinet. But I am not sure about the price.

It seems to be in good condition and complete, but has to be reassembled;(

Some burns in the CRT ( i think it should be changed)
Some Glitches in the game (but working)
Mechanical parts are in good condition.

Is 250€ a good idea, or to much?

Technical Area / Missile Command to Jamma?
« on: December 21, 2012, 09:49:30 PM »
Hi,

I wanted to start repairing my MC PCB.
so I decided to make a jamma adapter because it's easier for test.

someone has made something like this before?

I am not sure about the regulator pins and the +- Sense,

to my thought it would be enough to build an adapter to the green marked positons or am I wrong?
