I love tearing down walls myself, so this video was right up my alley! :)

If anybody wants to take a trip to Oslo to play the eleven or so games I have running in my house (aka the Arctic Arcade :P) and drink some beer they are of course welcome, but except for private collections I don't think there is anywhere here that can compare to previous Eurocade locations.

If nobody picks up the glove, perhaps we should try to head to Arcadeclub outside Manchester in Autumn? I know the UKVAC guys had a meetup there last October, so if they are doing it again and we could get our trip to coincide with that it would be extra supercool.

There is no real market for arcade cabs in Norway, so on the rare occasion when people have one to sell they end up with comparing them to pinball machines. Still, it is not all bad. Last week there was a Nintendo Space Fever cocktail for approx 200 Euros.

Depending on location, I can also be of help.

Truth is, I haven't applied it yet! But I will let you know. ;)

I'd like that! Let's talk over summer! :)

Cool thread! I actually have used the same stuff as body filler when rebuilding my cabs - Plastic Padding chemical metal bought at Clas Ohlson. It is toxic as hell though, and it gives off heavy fumes that will shorten your life by a couple of years. In one of the videos by Ully he uses something called Ponal Duo. I think I will order some from Germany and try it out. Apparently it smells like bubble gum.

By the way, before you lash out 3000,- SEK on woodgrain vinyl from Escapepod. I ordered the following for my Tempest, and it is a very close match to the original: http://www.ebay.com/itm/161235122498?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

And at a tenth of the price. :)

Apart from woodwork, recapping is the most tedious part of this hobby. I wish I could sit in on one of your beer and cap evenings. Looks fun!  :spaceace:

Cheers!

I have an original Namco Rally-X pcb. Not sure if it works, and I don't have any way of testing it, but it looks clean. You specify cocktail, but I think that that is just a matter of a dipswitch setting. Or?

Interested in trading it for some of the following:
Taito Space Invaders control panel, Joust control panel (populated or unpopulated), Outrun board, Wonderboy board, Time Pilot board, Tempest board.

I live in Oslo, so depending on your location we might be able to do a trade in person.

Looking very good, Pinge! Some really nice titles, and the room is coming together as well!  :)

Do they work, by the way? Would be cool to see some "switched on"-pictures (which are way too rare in forums in general).

Any chance these came from the notorious arcade Alexander Lucas in Stockholm?  ;)

Nice catch, I must say. Did you get any leads from the owner on where the remaining three might be?

Haha, ok! Each to his own. I had a friend who enjoyed sniffing glue when we were kids, but to the rest of us it was not particularly appealing. :P

The question is though, how prominent is the smell? Like does it fill the room in a way that you would not particularly want to light a match in there? Or is it like toothpaste or strawberry gum? I am trying to figure out whether I should start looking for a new product (currently using a product from Plastic Padding called PP100), or if they all are just as _objectively_ toxic.

Another great episode, Ully!

When I watch this video, and also the ones from the US where they use "bondo" I find myself wondering if the stuff gives off fumes at all? When I use what I think is the equivalent here in Norway, "chemical metal", I think I loose five years of my life for every cab. The chemical fumes are so bad that they stink up the entire place and leaves my head spinning even if I use a gas mask. :/
