Arcade Lifestyle / Re: Finally got one: Sprint 2
« on: October 04, 2014, 11:26:31 PM »
Yesterday was a very happy day. Jochen Hippel came by to deliver the Sprint 2 cab he had loaded into his car in Hilversum because we couldn't fit it into ours due to the three Eurocade-cabs. I had bought it from Oliver (Cebulba, the guy with the countless concoles, homecomputers and TVs ;) ) who brought it to Hilversum.

Though I had never seen nor played a Sprint before, I totally fell in love with the game and the cab. And so I was looking forward to get one.

To do:
* clean the cab
* repair the left steering wheel for the black car
* check if there is separate sound for player 2 and if it works
* repair the wood on the bottom of the sides
* is the marquee area supposed to be lit?

Great you finally got it and happy with the cab.
The TV and mechanics have been repaired by Winnie the Chassis Master himself (from german AZ board) so you won't have any problems with the s/w monitor within years to come.
He told me two weeks ago  the steering worked well on both cars - so it must be a transportation issue (from Germany to Hilversum) and an easy fix?!?

Note: You didn't bought it from me. I just forwared everything for some old buddies (and now I know you in person you are in the same "older buddies" line )

Looking forward for playing this beauty at your place anytime soon - now that I live closer :-)

Hi guys,

still have a bad back but right now a few minutes to drop some words on RGE2014.

I had a great weekend although a lot of work beforehand. Too bad I just moved south a few weeks before so I needed to arrange everything in last minute.
@Level42: I count 23 TVs if I remember correctly...and also included a small roadtrip for that Sprint2 the day before.

At least the setup looked very nice:

I need to get this carpet for my game room :)
(and maybe that Darius...)

Unfortunately I was so busy all the days (watching after kids, explaining games...) - as the whole crew - that I didn't had the chance to meet all DL members in person. See you next time.
@Bruno: You left to early for the CPOs - please keep these aside for me until we meet in the Lair or at Tyrem's place (The Roman arcade).

My special moment: The guy who made an 1 hour adventure of "Dungeons of Daggorath" on my TRS-80. At least one person was patient enough to get deeper into these older games.
(game description over here: http://crpgaddict.blogspot.de/2014/01/game-132-dungeons-of-daggorath-1982.html)

Note to Leve42: I explained Robotron to several people - either it's the Joust cabinet or the sheer fact it doesn't have a fire button, that only few mastered the controls *g*

One last question: Did anybody recognized the artwork at all I brought with me?

If not - you will have several more chances by 2015 because it will go on tour to Italy, UK, Austria and several larger cities in Germany. Stay tuned : http://www.supersample.de

by for now. And count me in for 2015.

That would be perfect candidate for ...a marble madness conversion.  8)

I've bought a RoadBlasters long time ago with that idea in mind... waiting for its death, but that god damn game is still up and running so far  ::) ...so I keep playing RB until its last breath!  ;D

if you buy it.. we could need some parts for our roadblasters... only very tiny ones i am afraid though. :)

Which parts? we ripped 3 System 1 RB cabinets....now running Marble Madness, Indiana Jones, Road Runner....and Peter Pack Rat waiting to be mounted :)

If I remember correctly these were on display at the Revival Retro Event in UK this year. I assume these are for sale.

I'm interested. PM me :)

Yes you can use this in a Red Tent, but you would need to populate the other side to have games on both screens working

Thanks.
Sorry TimePilot - then I'm out. Only looking for double screen Red Tent games, e.g. mine is running with Mario Tennis (4Player vs).

102
Assuming it will work in my Red Tent I can take it :-)
