It's a big lawn with some buildings surrounding it. And it's used as a place for big open air concerts, I have seen the U2 Pop Market Tour on the Zeppelinfeld. Anybody knows "Rock im Park"?

If you wanna see the typical tourist sightseeing stuff you have to visit the Kaiserburg (castle), the Albrecht-Dürer-Haus, Hauptmarkt with Schöner Brunnen and Frauenkirche (currently also with "Christkindlesmarkt") and Lorenzkirche. And Nürnberg has some amazing beer-cellars from the Middle Ages, it's a real underground maze.
