Great pix Erik.   Was really great to meet you guys, glad you liked the games.   I must confess I *did* have a full English breakfast on the Saturday morning and it kept me going throughout the day  ;D

Cheers,

Dan

'Business' Area : Buy/Sell/Trade / Price Check US Atari Black Widow
« on: April 03, 2012, 11:53:46 AM »
Hi guys, I'm considering selling my Atari Black Widow cabinet.   It works all the way, has original wiring harnes, control panel and marquee in a Gravitar cabinet.  I have Archer Macleans Black Widow sideart that I've not got round to applying.   The cabinet is very nice apart from one ding on the side.

Cheers,

Dan

Hi guys, any interest in a US Astro Blaster UR?   Located in South East England.   I've only listed it here and on ukvac, as a pre ebay special.   Looking for ~£650.   It works well but needs some cosmetic work.

Pretty sure that's not a new list, Exidy has been maintaining it for years.   Not really terribly useful for us in Europe, only real point of note is that a lot of the prices are way lower than they used to be.    That and the fact that the prices turn most of us here green with envy...

All the rest / Re: Who's going to see the Star Wars movies in 3D ?
« on: February 07, 2012, 11:28:25 AM »
I'm a die hard Star Wars fan but I'm not going to see them in 3D.   3D is sh!t, and that's with films designed for 3D, trying to paper 3D onto a 2D film is never going to be good imo.

Dunno if calling the members on a European site "foreigners" is the best way to go about getting them to attend  :P

Does look like it will be a good meeting, especially from the Pin side, think they're up to a 100 or more now!    Other commitments mean I can't make it (mainly childcare ones), really wish I could.

Unfortunately the posting of that fact on KLOV soon led to the hoovering up of all tabs from WG.  Been there, tried that, etc

Technical Area / Re: Vector Card - Anyone got/used one ?
« on: October 01, 2011, 01:24:03 PM »
Bit late, and you may already have seen it but here's a vid I did a while back to show a ZVG setup in a real cab.   It's currently still running (using DOS) albeit with the newer menu recently developed.   Mine is running a P3 700 and most games run fine at full speed with sound.  The exceptions are Star Wars/ESB, Major Havoc (although this is close), Black Widow off the top of my head.   There is work (slowing) going on for a Linux build to support the ZVG, this should open up a vast array of supported hardware, the problem with the ZVG has always been finding a PC capable of running DOS and getting a sound card to work with it.

Just wish there was a source for those magnetic strips.  Pretty much all my vector monitors have some minor convergence issues like these, never been able to find em anywhere.

I think the Atari 8 bit computers had the consistently best arcade conversions.   Colecovision had some great ones as well but they had a much more limited selection and they were generally several years later than the Atari 800 counterparts.

Atari PONG Tournament, on ebay UK, right here.

That's been on and unsold for a while now.   It's a good price and pretty rare imo.   I think it used to be owned by Andy Welburn (Pman on UKVAC), and is based on Atari 2600 hardware.   I did wonder wether it might be possible to cram a Warlords PCB in there with the 4 pots ;)
