Ahh your BB board suffered the same "final" problem mine did.

That brown chocolate chip is a PC030CM sip. They are pretty difficult to get hold of.

You can steal one from a donor board. Arkanoid is the easiest to find (where mine came from), but also used on L.S.A. Squad and Tokio/ Scramble Formation.

Apparently the following can also be done to circumvent the chip:

The I/O error message will be displayed if either PC030 pin 1 or 3, connected to COINA / COINB input lines in the MCU, is logic high when the board powers up.

These input lines should be both kept at low level, unless a coin switch is pressed.

I used MAME to confirm that a workaround to fix a bad PC030 is to remove it from the board and add the following jumpers:

pin 3 <-> pin 17
pin 1 <-> pin 19

Also, you need to replace both coin switches with a NC type (normally closed), connecting the JAMMA coin signals to ground.

Pressing a coin switch will break the connection to ground, allowing the board pull-up resistor connected to PC030 pin 1 / 3 to raise the COINA / COINB input level.

Never known of anyone who has tried the fix but would be really good to know if it actually works.

Gratz on the restoration, looking good!

The Space Ace is a custom painted SA'91. Only 2 in the world and this one is the only one with artwork on the kick plate.

However, I've not seen it in 2 years and need to go pick it up...Was thinking of selling it off.

The Cels though, I don't think I'll ever sell.

I've posted a link before but if you like looking through cels this is my little collection:

Don't know how to display them as I don't want lighting damage caused to them.

I saw this on Kickstarter and had seen the poster. I thought "some cheeky git has used the Dragon's Lair font"! Then I saw this post and it all clicked. Some GREAT background information there, brilliant read!

I love the way this thread started, shots of the small garage and garden......All the nay saying, thinking it's got no chance....

The BOOM, a whopping great big hole in the ground and concrete poured walls! Frickin' epic!

Everyone suddenly takes it all a bit more seriously.....

starting a new forum is bull!!! do we really need another one? i vote NO WAY!!! it's going to be the same crappy situation like with the two german forums and the two uk-based ones.

honestly, i can't quite understand your reaction andré. simply because bruno didn't do what you expected him to do because he was following the rules laid out by this forum? if i were you i'd lay back and relax for a while - then come back ....

much worse things have happened before than this!!!

Amen. Take a reality check!

Exactly as mentioned above, it's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. This type of art is seriously niche, but collectors will love it with the same zeal as a famous artists piece of work.

The problem with the sale is that it is being touted as the grail of this niche area of artwork. Where in actual fact it's mismatched (I could live with that) but more importantly missing the original background. The big money on these cels is all about getting the original BGs, so seriously disappointing.

I wonder how much my Smithee scene is actually worth now looking at those other auctions rather expensive pricing for stuff that is seriously inferior......

That is bloody ridiculous! It's doesn't even have the original background, it's a laser copy!!!!

Besides that's not the best scene, the best scene is in my collection  Tongue

29  General Chat / Galaxian Theater / Re: ## Road Trip ## GALAXIAN THEATER from NAMCO !!! on: March 21, 2013, 11:46:06 AM
In your line of thinking it cannot be called a wonder because a wonder is created by a higher entitity and this game was developped by mere human beings. It's a nice game yes, it's a special game too yes but not a wonder.

This is all completely OT but where did you get the idea a wonder can only be created by a higher entity? Who do you think created the seven wonders of the ancient world?

According to http://www.thefreedictionary.com/wonder:

The 1st definition is: "One that arouses awe, astonishment, surprise, or admiration; a marvel"

The Galaxian 3 theater scores on all counts!
