"Occhio al ciglio" means "Beware of the edge (of the precipice)"...
Funny to see Dirk the daring mixed with Wile E.Coyote  :D :D :D

Hi Boys !!!  :D

Could somebody (Please !) help me to convert my Dragon's Lair NTSC footage (taken from Digital Leisure' s Dragon's Lair 20th Anniversay Edition, using Dvd2DAPH) into PAL...

I heard that the latest version of Daphne (finally !) supports the European version of Dragon's Lair...

...and unfortunately actually that's the only way I could see my beloved blue screen again (no any cab here around !    )...

Please help me !

Whoa boys ! Seems your memories about these Arcade Rooms are so beautiful !  :D
The public Arcade Room I went was a smokey place, smelling like after shave...
Very dark and full of "gentlemen" that everytime they wrong a move on Dragon's Lair, were hitting the precious cabinet very hard...causing the machine need to be repaired very often...
I also remember the Dragon's Lair panel sometimes was giving some little electricity shock to the players...
But it was beautiful ! Oh so beautiful ! I remember that awesome cabinet standing there...beside there were a clone of Break-out and on the other side "Bank Panic"(nice game...I was playing sometimes, when I was getting tired of loosing my money very fastly on Dragon's Lair, at least there with one coin I could play about 15 minutes...)
That room was so terrible, but Dragon's Lair cabinet was so wonderful (and it's still now!)...  :D

Thank you a lot Bruno for creating a so beautiful and complete website, where we can "unleash our passion" without any saving...

The first time I saw Dragon's Lair was not in public gaming room...
It was on TV...an italian program called "Tandem" (some kind of italian version of Starcade)...on this program there were many kind of  "spartan" video-games (custom made video-games, probably they were using a Commodore 64) and two players comparing their ability on these games. At a certain point of the show they were showing a beautiful cabinet  and the players (one by one) were holding the joystick and play...
Then...what was happening ? They were showing a beautiful cartoon : a castle by night, surrounded by plant spines...a knight getting in...Wonderful ! Is that a videogame ? Impossible, I was thinking ( I was just a kid...), but then I saw the order of the rooms was changing and the cartoon was "stopping"  sometimes (no black screen thanks to the magic of TV)  and the scene was changing if the player wrong...they were also showing a blue screen with the score and some "rectangles with a sword inside" representing lives left...
I was breathless, I was watching this TV show "hypnotized" by that game...
Is there some other Dragon's Lair italian fan who remembers about this show and maybe hold some video-tape ?

I needed to be waiting almost 1 year before I could see that game, on the arcade room near home...Stunning beautiful, I was feeling like living a dream...the rest is history...

Dragon's Lair / Space Ace / Another Dragon's Lair Easter Egg ?
« on: June 30, 2007, 08:03:31 PM »
I discovered something funny inside Dragon's Lair footage...  :)
On the Lizard King's  room Dirk loses his sword, because got stuck up on the golden pot, right ?

But if you pay attention, on the next screen, when he runs after the golden pot, his sword is still inside its fold, next to Dirk's belt...
But Dirk still runs after the sword stuck up on the pot even if he still wears a sword (?)

What do you think :

Is it an Easter Egg or just distraction from Don Bluth' s staff ?

Am I really the first one who noticed this ?

Hi Bruno !  :D
Sorry to contradict you,
but Andrea Martin, the author, cited in his website Dragon's Lair and Don Bluth directly as one the two main sources of inspiration for his character (the other one is Disney's Black Cauldron)
(You can see clicking on INFO on the web page...italian language  only  :? )

Of course you can count on me for every kind of translation...  8)
I'm already trying to contact the author...

Dragon's Lair / Space Ace / Dragon's Lair II Transcript
« on: June 02, 2007, 09:26:11 PM »
Oh thanks a lot to publish this on the web site  !!!  :)
I searched a lot, everywhere...seems nobody could ever give me a clue...
I contacted Digital Leisure, Don Bluth's website...

Many words I already knew (including the nonsense poetry Jabberwocky), but some other for me are totally new...
...Only...
1) On the Dinosaurs level I always had the feeling that Mordroc was saying "you caliginous (???? or whatever he says) f***ing peace of junk ! (is that possible a bad word on Don Bluth's cartoon ?)

2)On the Eden level I hear the angel saying "Go'way, no visionaries..."

What do you think ?

3)When the transcript of "Space Ace" ?
