All is good now, thanks Barry and Bruno!
I had no power for five days. I did take the opportunity to FINALLY set up all my arcade machines up once again since my basement flooded a couple of years ago. Now I have an arcade in my garage! 16 machines at the moment!

Barry,
How are you making out in Texas now?

Welcome oldcomputerfan!

BTW: the retrobright stuff works like a charm.
I brought back to cosmetic life an old beat up Apple IIc and an Apple IIe with it. (will try to find the before and after pics and post on a new thread).
All you really need is strong Hydrogen peroxide (I think I use 10 or 20% bought at a beauty supply store for haircare stuff) and corn starch (what I used as a thickener after heating it all up in the microwave).
I painted it on the surfaces, left them out in the sun for several hours (applied a few extra coats in between as it kept drying up) and then wow! all the yellowing gone.

Anyone have a better version of the bezel artwork?

Paul,
That's a nice looking Journey.
$1500 + $500-600 shipping is too much for me to handle though.
Best of luck to whoever ends up buying it. Looks great.

Hurricanes are no joke...
Hi everyone, back online after just getting power back!
Don't think the local destruction was as bad as hurricane Ike (awesome pics btw Barry)!

All trains and buses shut down around the NYC area. Evacuations for some areas started earlier today. Rain has just started but still no wind...

Don't Stop Believing is a true classic! Love it!
Though nothing beats Steve Perry singing it, the new guy Arnel Pineda, is quite good too.

Joymonkey site! I went in on the original purchase too!
Dont think I ever used anything from there either. Don't even remember my login/password to it.

Yup, category 3, may go up to a 4 or drop to a 1 no one knows yet.
(Love the Wreck it Ralph name!)
I must say it is quite scary preparing for this. I don't know how people in the Caribbean deal with this all the time.
Up here in NY it is quite rare to get this strong of a storm. Having to cover windows with plywood and tie down anything loose outside is weird. Knowing that some huge trees may fall on my house and that my family may get hurt is real scary!
As far as arcade stuff goes (since this is, after all, an arcade based forum!) I have all my machines in the garage. With 100mph winds it may blow the doors right off and carry those machines everywhere! (picture the poor Dragon's Lair II machine on the roof of someone else's house!)
I guess it is what it is. If I don't lose power I'll post up some pics and maybe video while the storm is raging.

Ahh, more clues rolling in. Thanks Luigi!
I have not found the real sideart for Journey anywhere. (well, maybe here, not sure:
 http://www.rotheblog.com/2008/11/arcade/smokin-new-photos-of-the-journey-sideart-reproduction-progress/
I think I may have the marquee and bezel artwork and I saw where to buy the CPO.

This time around I will use sanded plywood for the build. MDF is terrible in high humidity areas and it's really heavy (although easy to work with).
For the winter I have a couple of projects I would like to work on:
This Journey build
Gorf build (may postpone due to difficulty of obtaining control panel)
Professor Pacman build (may postpone due to difficulty of obtaining control panel)
TRON restoration
Finally finish my Pac-Man build!

Hmmm, I guess you don't realize that a category 2 Hurricane has not struck around here in over 25 years...

There's a big nasty hurricane (Irene) coming our way in the eastern USA:

If it stays a category 2, it will be the largest such hurricane to hit the NYC area in decades.
The potential for disaster here is quite big. I pray for all of us.

Hi Paul,
It is possible that Lazarian has a similar external shape/dimensions as Journey.
Found this pic on KLOV:

Thanks!
Alex

Edit: Domino Man and Bump n Jump are supposed to be the same cabinet too (just monitor more horizontal than vertical):

Hi guys,
Thinking of building a scratch built Journey arcade machine.
Would anyone have any good photos or diagrams with dimensions for it?
This is the one I'm talking about:

Thanks!
Alex

Edit: Looking around for pics of the Journey led me to this restoration:

Now to get the measurements...
(Is this cab black or dark blue? can't really tell...)
