'Business' Area : Buy/Sell/Trade / WTB: Tempest and Asteroids Parts
« on: March 24, 2014, 03:02:08 PM »
After carefully studying scr33n's excellent documented build-from-scratch Tempest, wow is the only word I can express marvelling at such beautiful work. However, I also found out that my Tempest is missing the marquee housing, the grill and the glass for the marquee. Please see below picture, which I borrowed/stole from scr33n's thread (I hope you forgive me) so that you know what I mean. Maybe someone has spares for sale.

After moving the Asteroids last month I found out, that one of the player start buttons is stuck (the cone housing is fine). Can you tell me where to get one of these nowadays?

Cheers,
Reini

All the rest / A nice hug to everyone

Hi,

I'm overjoyed to have found my way to this forum. Not completely by chance because I'm now a proud owner of a Zaccaria Quasar, and yours truly, Bela, provided me this great cab on Friday  ;D

The Quasar was taken to its final resting place yesterday, which is 30km from my primary residence, but I managed to forget the keys and haven't even started her up yet - which will happen tonight.

I remember playing the Quasar at two different locations back in the 80s here in Austria and it (strangely?  ;) ) has always been one of my favourite machines. When I saw on VAPS that one is for sale, I contacted Bela on Thursday and on Friday it was mine. Talk about short notice.

The Quasar now resides beside three dedicated Atari Vectors, namely an Asteroids, a Lunar Lander and a Tempest. I made a few bad, quick pictures with the iPhone yesterday which I want to share with you. I also have some 70 to 80 PCBs, but mainly I collect videogames for 8bit consoles.

I have no references in electronics so I'm a complete newbie in preserving them arcade machines and I possibly will ask many dumb questions in here.

See you,
Reini
