'Business' Area : Buy/Sell/Trade / Zaccaria shell
« on: February 05, 2018, 03:28:34 PM »
Hi,

I have a Zacc shell that needs to go. It has the bottom completely populated, but it misses the monitor, bezel, marquee and CPO. It does have the wooden control panel with the leaf switches.

I do have a star splash bezel, but the glass is damaged in the left bottom side. If you want it, you can get it with the shell.

I want 30 euro for it. Pick-up in the Netherlands

Arcade Lifestyle / Who wants to join me on a trip to Fun Spot in 2016?
« on: October 13, 2015, 10:25:55 PM »
Guys,

I'm making plans to go on a trip to Fun Spot in 2016. I think it would be cool to go in June, because the Arcade Outsiders Brofest 2016 will take place then (John mentioned June 3/4 in the podcast).

It would be fun to go with some of you guys, anyone interested to join me?

Flying to Boston is not too expencive and we can ask John what would be a good place to stay in the neighbourhood.

Let me know what you guys think

'Business' Area : Buy/Sell/Trade / looking for Ms Pacman Sideart
« on: February 17, 2015, 09:41:26 PM »
Hi guys,

I bought the Ms Pac from Thwocker. It looks very clean on the inside, has a brand new monitor in it, I have 2 PCBs (1 probably working)m the marquee, bezel and CPO look OK...... but the paint is in really bad shape. The wood looks pretty nice overall, so it's a matter of sanding bodoing, painting and applying side art to restore it.

Now I'm looking for the side art stencils. I know thisoldgame has them, but the dollar and especially the shipping are crazy ATM

Anyone has a set for sale?

Cheers, Patrick

Technical Area / my 1st monitor fix
« on: January 31, 2015, 09:55:08 PM »
Guys, I'm very proud because I just finished fixing up my 1st monitor ever.

It's the MTC-900 from one of my zaccs I got from pauls50s. When I 1st put it on, picture on the screen was too small, wobbling and the colors were off.

I discharged the tube (well, nothing really happened), I did a capkit and I studied the manual to find out about the degaussing coil. I also found out about B+ and I adjusted it to 126V. Now the picture looks OK, just a little bit washed out in the lower left corner (when oriented vertical). No more wobbling.

I do have some questions for next time

- There are measuring points on the chassis for all kind of stuff, including B+, but what is the best place for GND (I used video ground, but there must be a better spot)
- What could be the reason the degaussing button isn't working all the time (after power off and up, it works again)
- Is there a way to test Vpp with a multimeter or do you always need a scope?

This is the result:

High Score - Are you the best ... around? / Space Zap
« on: September 17, 2014, 01:00:10 PM »
We were talking about the Space Zap WR on Eurocade. I looked it up on TG and the list is:

Rank   Points   Percent   Player   Date Verified   Verification Method
1   244,250   100.00%   Robert Lakeman   2012-06-23   DVD
2   235,000   96.00%   Richard Rogers   1983-01-03   Referee
3   230,000   94.00%   Mike Jones   1983-01-14   Referee
4   214,500   88.00%   Tim W McVey   1983-09-30   Referee
5   174,000   71.00%   Antonio Medina   1982-08-11   Referee

So my 217k score is actually pretty good and I'm confident I'm able to break te WR if I could actually practice the game.

One day maybe.....

'EUROCADE 2O14' / ~~ Eurocade / RGE 2014 - Anunaki's pics ~~
« on: September 16, 2014, 10:47:34 AM »
Still very much in the vibe, I'll put my pics down here. Unfortunately my camera didn't work, so I only made a few pics with my phone :(

Like last year, I was going to get a cab with me from the attic. I got it downstairs. But when I plugged it a big bang was heared and the lights went off in the house

So I came without a cab  >:( >:( just entering through the front entrance at Friday

I had a look in the Gametainer

Inside some work still was done by the EC crew

And one cab already passed out before the fun started

Good to see a MK2 available again this year without the crazy work for me ;D

Note to the owner: please put other revision roms in it. 2.1 sucks big time, because it misses features and is filled with bugs. Go with 3.2

I went to see a discussion: " are videogames cultural heritage?"

The rest of the day I played some games before I checked in my hotel room

The highlight of the evening was this... looking good Andre ;D

We talked and drank  and had some pizza with a German, Dutch, Italian, Belgium bunch

This was day one, in fact the only day I took a lot pics with my phone, because the next day my friend Laurent would bring my camera (I forgot it of course)

Arcade Lifestyle / Road trip in times of a crisis
« on: September 08, 2014, 10:42:34 PM »
Tomorrow I'll go on a roadtrip to get a cab I literally saved 2 days before its demolition. It is supposed to be working, but it misses some parts.

It's a pretty big cab, a nice deluxe one...... probably way too new for you folks.... but to me it's a true 90s arcade classic

I'll do a roadtrip report in this thread, so to be continued 8)

Technical Area / replacing a crystal on a PCB
« on: March 28, 2014, 10:47:41 PM »
Hi,

I have a MK sound PCB that doesn´t work. I also have a working one and I see the 3,58MHz crystal is missing on the non working one

Does the replacement part have to be the exact same MHz? Or can it be a little higher? I tried googling it, but didn't fin the answer.

Cheers,

Patrick

Technical Area / I found this Williams PCB inside my cab
« on: March 24, 2014, 10:44:40 PM »
Guys,

I'm really busy with my attic arcade, to get everything up and running. While working on my Hyper Olympic, I found this Williams PCB inside.

Maybe someone recognized this. I don't have any use for it, so if anyone knows what it is and casn use it just let me know.
