Hi,

http://www.zzzaccaria.com/zzz/photos_www_2023.htm

A couple of highlights from last year:
 - A complete Phoenix in the unusual early particle board cabinet was discovered (22/02/2023)
 - A lot of cabinets were found and restored, some great collections taking shape!

I have the same problem too, of making "blanks" for the curved marque for repro's.

Would need to make a new mold and then apply the same process as the semicircle marque:

Yeah, I don't think the microswitch one is original. Maybe it was replaced, and they kept the original shaft? A Franken-stick ?

There are holes in the plastic base that may hint the base can be rotated +45 degrees and the switches moved -45 degrees to allow the hole to be in the 8-way position. Assuming the switch base is separatable from the mount base.

That's quite a restoration - kudos for taking that on :)
Paul.

It takes time to heat through, more time than you would think, until it becomes soft to the touch, basically like a rubber sheet. I usually use my fingers to press on it to get to approximately flat and then load it up with books to full flat. Doesn't need a lot of pressure when it's soft.

There were a lot of cigarettes rested in various places over several years :)

Never tried a hair dryer so I don't know if that's hot enough. On low, my heat gun is still a lot hotter than a hair dryer though.

Paul.

Folks leaving their cigarettes resting there while they played back in the day :)

A heat gun on low can be used to soften the plastic and then use a weight to flatten it whilst it cools.

The burn damage, I 've only cleaned mine and not attempted anything more than that. Eventually I may go with a repro, but I'm OK leaving it as battle damage from a life well lived :)

Paul.

Hi,

http://www.zzzaccaria.com/zzz/photos_www_2022.htm

A couple of highlights from last year:
 - A complete Zaccaria Armada game PCB finally surfaced, a revised Sea Battle game to fit a standard cabinet.
 - A collection of early 80's UK trade magazine 'Leisure Play' was scanned with a trove of industry inside information.

Looks great to me, but I haven't received a reply from Joeks about using it for a repro yet. I'll PM him again to ask,
Thanks,
Paul.

No problem Dreamstates, go for it :)
Thanks,
Paul.
