I'll reply to you when I am back home Daz.

I've completed everything now. Just have to do the Half Tone colouring now. Could really use that help now Dex.

Maverick, you *really* over reacted there!

I have to agree with Level42. In the pictures of the models I can barely make out what they are. You have the camera focused on the background behind the models and every shot is therefore out of focus and the models totally blurred.

He simply pointed this out.

We can't enjoy these beautiful models with a passion if we can't work out what they really look like. He wasn't attacking you in the original post, but because of the response you gave that post, he then basically said to chill out (rather curtly), to which you took offense again.

Now let's all calm down and get back to some Arcade Lifestyle!

Third times the charm. Dexter..... could you please impart your half tone technique while vectorising?

What technique do you use to Half Tone?

Do you build up a load of circles (blending a line of circles then creating lots of lines of those circles) and create a clipping mask over it? I used that technique and when I resize the vector the colours royally f*ck up!

Example of my Rolling Thunder marquee resized. See how his trousers and the enemies mask screw up:

When output at the original size it looks superb....

Dex? Answering this will really help me out the CPO has loads of Halftone on it. Does your technique scale well?

I have to tell you - I don't know what you do for a living, but you should quit and become a photographer.

You have a great eye for a good picture opportunity.  Seriously.

I must admit I saw some of those pictures and thought the same thing. Lovely shots!

You could try and upload them to http://www.localarcade.com/arcade_art/ in the unclean or Non-Vector section. However, I had problems uploading to this site.

Or you could use this excellent site, http://www.sendthisfile.com/, you upload to the site it emails a link to the recipient so they can download it. Works really well!

There is a bubble bobble package going on the US Ebay right now, but bloody expensive @ $259:

Bubble Bobble Set

I've not seen any boards on their own. However, for you that package may be perfect if you need the marquee & manual too. I personally would not pay that price though!

Or maybe I can do this one myself ?

That would be really easy to vector. Get a copy of Adobe Illustrator and have a go. It's a lot easier than you would imagine, I did my Rolling Thunder marquee and loved the learning experience!

For the ghosts, you would only have to do one, copy and reflect. The Puckmen you would only have to do one and copy twice. All the coloured lines / curves would be simple.

Good luck finding a working original board. I've been looking for a few months now and not seen one yet!

Ahhh you use a tablet, that must speed the process up immensely. I don't have such luxury :)

Do you bother emulating the half tone colouring or just substitute a flat colour?

Looks pretty damn good.

What process do you use from scan to vector? You can't be hand tracing that in the time you turn them around.....

Dex?!? I'm in the process of doing the Rolling Thunder CPO so it may help if you could let me know whether you hand trace or use some other magic.
