Title: I want to tell you a story...
Post by: vernimark on October 30, 2017, 12:29:08 AM
Twelve years ago I moved to Bologna for a new job. I was quite excited because I had the opportunity to work with the greatest arcade actors made the Italian arcade history, as Zaccaria and many others you probably don't know.
I designed gaming machines as slot machines and fruit machines for many years but this wasn't the job of my dreams and during the last 3 years I suffered more and more.
So in the beginning of last summer I left my workplace and transferred to Milano where I opened "Vernimark Noleggio Videogiochi" that we can translate as Vernimark Videogames Rental service.
I'm offering now the possibility to have classic arcades in corporate events. Companies, event managers or communication agencies can organize events using my arcades or pinballs. I'm available for shootings or video clips too.
This service is quite new here in Italy and I have few competitors and some of them are friends.
Here is the web site
Http://Noleggiovideogiochi.vernimark.com
And these are the available arcades at the moment
http://www.vernimark.com/noleggiovideogiochi/tutti-i-videogiochi/
And you can find Vernimark Noleggio Videogiochi on facebook.
It's in Italian, i m sorry.

Now I'm setting up a showroom and with the few money remained I will try to find some classics I still miss (my collection has my favourite games, not the most wanted).

Let's cross the fingers!
 ;D

I wish all the best to you and "Vernimark Noleggio Videogiochi".
This is something I would love to do too, but as a side work. As this would demand a certain amount of time I unfortunately don't have anymore.
Anyway, all the best (and wow... what a games collection!)  :spaceace: :spaceace: :spaceace:

Great idea, I think most of us have the same "dream work." :D
Good luck!
Which games are you looking for?

It's always great if someone is doing what he likes most, trying to realize his 'dreamjob'. I wish you all the luck, joy and success Venimark.  :)

To be honest, this is not what I would like to do. Getting called in the late evening and someone yelling into my ears "two of the three machines you put here stopped working" is not a dream but a nightmare!  ;D ;)

Good luck with your business, crossing fingers you don't get such calls!! :)

About a little man...
If I can..."

Good luck!  :)

thank you  ;D

Luigi, I agree with you but It's a pity to have a lot of machines and leave them off most of the time.
During all events I did, a lot of people came to me to thank for the opportunity to play with those games...
and in this way the hobby is self-financed :)

Bela, first of all I miss a pac-man or mrs pac-man cab. I know it's ridiculous but it has never been my game but now every time someone asks me cabinets for event Pac-man is always in the wishing list! :D
Now I have not thousands euros to invest in a new cabinet so I hope to find one in the future (obviously a project is enough)
then a crazy kong, a galaga. and (it's a shame) I haven't an original space invaders UR!!

Out of the business I'd like to fine tons of vector games ahah

A Zaccaria Puckman would be perfect in your collection for the Pac lovers. ;D
Hope you find some soon. :D

Restarting, with the cards you have in hand, is a courageous choice.
Turning it into a new work, even more..
It might be a "dream work" as Bela says.....or a terrible nightmare like Luigi said.
The hobby could not be a source of relaxation in everyday life, but a daily source of stress at the rhythm of the motto "time is money"...
I do not know what you did before the last 12 years ago, but I can tell you that the Italian bureaucracy kills 2 times the self employed: sometime I often envy the employees of large companies ..

..for to widen the business, you should also consider non-corporate events..

.. the most popular games, of course are the most required by profanes ..
.. if you want I alert you if I sight a Space Invaders (Italian Model Racing probably..)

Good luck.

Wow, that is exciting and courageous for sure !!!

I hope it rolls the way you like it to see :)

I fully understand the feeling you describe about enthusiastic people....it was what made the two RGE's in Hilversum brilliant to do.....

About the machines going down: just rip out all the old junk, install a 48in1 board and a LCD....... ;D

Thank you!
Unfortunately it's not so easy. People think cabs can be moved for free and can work forever....
But I'm insisting ahah
About the boards, I often use bootlegs even if original boards are always inside.
