Title: Ladybug wall mount lock mechanism
Post by: virtvic on April 19, 2017, 06:22:13 AM
Does anyone here have a ladybug wall mount machine (or similar) that could take a picture of the lock bar mechanism for me, so I can create a new one for mine, please?

Let me help here a little ;)

I think it's a generic cab with dedicated artwork (see attached picture). The lock mechanism consists of the lock itself and two bars that are moved up/down by turning the lock.

That's exactly how I imagine it to work, but as the bars move with the lock bar, they will move on a slight angle. I'm thinking that the pivot points on the lock bar should be slotted to allow for this. I think  I'll make roughly what I think will work, try it and then adjust to suit.

The monitor stopped working the other day - but I have found out with the help of a monitor expert that the  degauss PTC had failed and made the fuse go short circuit. I removed the  PTC and it now works again!
I have ordered a new one, as the colours are a bit off without a degauss in there.

Right, so the bar's turnpoint (?) should be as near to the lock center axis as possible.

Damn monitors....blame it on the courier  :D

I think the monitor failing may have had something to do with the light flicking like mad when it was trying to turn itself on - I sorted that out by cleaning the contacts on the tube  - works even without the tube starter now!

It looks great next to my Cosmic Alan. Really pleased I've finally got it. :D

Wait a minute, I can remember that the game once coined up when the tube was flickering  :D  The problem had disappeared after I had installed a new starter.

He was a good Alan! :D

The tube had corroded contacts. I cleaned another of my tubes recently and that now works perfectly!

A good tech tip!
