Title: Recapping a PCB
Post by: vernimark on March 24, 2017, 01:25:48 PM
This thread is related to my SPRINT ONE board but I think this way to proceed is quite unusual for videogame collectors.
In the contrary it is quite common in the old radio collectors (my previous hobby hehe).

(usual blog link: http://www.vernimark.com/?p=6358)

I wanted to replace the big capacitors on the PCB without using modern stuff

Cut and empty the old capacitors

Refill them with the new capacitor and seal with hot glue

So inside the empty tubes is now a new capacitor?

Nice solution, a modern cap looks terrible in these old pcbs. :D

Great idea so far. Since the new caps should be good for at least 10 years?
