Hi There,
I visited the factory where OFF LIMITS had been designed.
I have in my hands the original projects :)
the "big" masters will be restored (by me) and donated to TILT.IT association and if I can I'll hang up in my living room the 1:1 version...
-
:-*
-
Wow, that is really something that can be named 'COLLECTOR ITEM'! :o :-*
-
Wow, well done. :spaceace:
-
Awesome! Hope to see some pics of the designs and your visit :)
-
The company is TBM (as mentioned in the thread https://www.dragonslairfans.com/smfor/index.php?topic=6225.0)
on the 1st floor I found JAMMA cabs and slot machines because in the last years of activity those were the only things played.
On the 2nd floor: OFF LIMITS design, tons of PCBs, never used "SUPER OFF LIMITS" marquees (a new version of OFF LIMITS never produced or produced in very small quantities)
-
some boards
-
... too much for my car...
next time I'll keep the rest.
-
I started to test and troubleshoot some boards.
Zac boards first :)
I think "BILIARDO" is video hustler. I didn't test it yet.
-
What a great find mate :pac:

:o
..the pics tell more about an abandoned house than a old Electronic Company Headquarter...
..It's a pity that the bigs Italian arcade factory (ZZZ, Model Racing..) have preserved nothing like this small T.B.M. have done..
...Great found!
-
Actually looking at the "BILIARDO" PCB I can see dip switches are not in the same position than the (HUSTLER) board shown on the Paul's page (http://www.zzzaccaria.com/images/Projects/HustlerRestoration/DSCN3954.JPG).
I'm looking forward the ISO9001 inspector I've here today closes the 1st audit so I can go at home to plug it :)
-
your "BILIARDO" PCB looks like a standard konami-pinout with a soundboard from scramble
http://www.zzzaccaria.com/images/PCBs/Scramble.jpg
the hustler pcb looks seems to be a konami pinout as well and like a frogger pcb

we will have the answer in 2 hours :D
-
Wow, this is an awesome thread!!!! :spaceace: :spaceace: :spaceace:
-
You found the Zacc treasure cave of the 21th century ;D
Awesome topic. :spaceace:
-
OK. I tested the board with the metal cage but it doesn't work. I already had another board to test and I want to respect the queue :D
In fact in the same box I found a ZAC THE INVADERS.
It's the 1st time I see that kind of board with the color part completely populated.
board doesn't work. then I could see colors are not so clear so I decided to use the composite output.
setting the power over 5.4 I can see the game but with corrupted graphics and after a bit freeze.
I replaced some RAMs but nothing changed.
Actually I'm scared there is a ROM problem.
We will see
-
Great catch, my friend :)
-
ADDENDUM:
text is ok (CREDITS, INSERT COIN, scores, ...)
the Invaders don't appear in the beginning then moving on the right I can see something more. After few frames the game freezes

Do you know how to read 93451 PROMs? Or do you know their pinout?

Ok it works.
I had to replace the 2636
One question: eprom reader identifies the game as space intruder. Any differenze with the invaders?
-
Another difference is the cpu : The Invaders mounts a Signetics 2650 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Signetics_2650) , while Space Intruder assemble a Zilog Z80 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zilog_Z80)
-
this board has the 2650. Same hardware than THE INVADERS.
-
I read all proms as 2708 with this fast hand made adapter. Just connected CS0/ to ground and CS2, CS3 to +5V
-
Ok, in the same box I found another QUASAR. Seems to work
-
I don't think I've ever seen a colour configured The Invaders PCB. Can you take a full picture of the whole board front & back? I've often wondered about populating the colour section but without the colour PROM it may not have worked. If you can dump the colour PROM it would be useful to see if it's the same data as is used on the B&W only boards.
In terms of Huslter, my Hustler cab has a Billiards PCB that looks like a bootleg. It has a SeeVend label on it so I've no reason to believe SeeVend didn't fit it. It's interesting to see you have something that looks like an original Billiards PCB with Zaccaria serial number & cage - does it have a SeeVend label also?
Great find!
Paul.

Great awesome find and thread!
Thanks a lot for posting!!!

Hi Paul,
I dumped just 1 eprom but my romident didn t recognized the game; anyway looking at the hardware, it seems to be scramble
About the colour board, I ll try to dump that prom if socketed
-
Wow, what an awesome find !!!
Are there more pictures from the outside and inside of the building etc....?
-
Not of the building.
Inside no more old cabs, generic jamma only. Then on the 2nd floor a lot of boards and some spares
