Son of a bitch that's a the remains of a Zac cockpit and it has the f*cking foot pedal!!! See 5:09.

If anyone knows anything about this place and is nearby, please grab the remains of the cockpit - the IGR power brick, boards, control panel and THE FOOT PEDAL and the cash box door. Well, everything that's not wood (except the back door, that I also need). And if you see them laying around, the instruction cards from the glass.

Paul.

Is this the "Vossen" place the AZ guys have been talking about over the last few days?
http://www.arcadezentrum.com/forum/showthread.php?24227-Arcade-Friedhof-in-Worms/

If so, someone should be able to get the parts for Paul, I think some of the german guys are rather close to Worms (Laschek?).

Paul, 'someone' will take care of this foot pedal this afternoon!

Why do you think did I ask so many questions yesterday? ;)

When I saw the first pictures I immediateley remembered that Buck Rogers cockpit and I was like 'please someone has bought/saved that cab'. Then I saw a picture with the foot pedal and the controller and some wood around it and my heart missed a beat. Then I thought 'wow, I can help Paul with that' :)

I will look around to see if there's more left of it and grab it. But the pictures and the videos show nothing I recognized as a part of the cockpit...so not too much hope here, please  :-\

Mmmmmm, Spaze Zap cabaret ? I missed that, is it the upright version with the mirror ?

Probably broken anyway now.

Clearly some guys had some "fun" on those poor machines....

But indeed, stuff there that still can be of value.....noticed the Zacc cockpit steering wheel right away and thought that would be useful for someone ;)

PP cockpit looks  like it survived a bit ? Too bad it's not a bit longer in the video ;)

Ouch, two lovely Universal games... I could use the marquees if they were still around; someone headed over there?

Holy shit!
What happened there?! I'm a little off Internet these last weeks, so I wasn't aware of this mess!
In short, do these games belong to a group of private collectors? (the guys on that video?) ...and they found their games broken like that! The worst nightmare possible! Shit!

A terrible shame to see those cabs smashed, but some good can come out of this like Paul said, with parts that people may need for their games?

everything was unfolding last saturday.
an operator called Vossen from worms/germany collected a huge amount of cabs over the years. unfortunately that guy had a terrible reputation. little facts are known why the cabs are in the current condition. the rumor is that he smashed them due to a legal dispute with the landlord of the storage. at leat that is what he told to some german collectors. no matter what happened... it is a terrible shame. we all would have loved to help.. if we only had known. but the vossen-guy is famous for his strange state of mind. everybody dealing with him in the past told me that he was a real pain in the a...

the german community is constantly traveling to the storage to save what is left. there are still a hell of a lot of shells in there. jochen and the guys from neustadt called me a few hours ago. let's see what the are able to save.

the vid was done about 3 days after the party started , when most cabs have been trashed , gutted or taken . dunno how many have been there some weeks or months ago . maybe 100-200 ?! hard to tell . its frustrating to stand by watching a bunch of idiots trashing stuff worth thousends of eus for maybe 50 eu scrap metal reward .

to make things worse i ve unburried an old vid taken on the location some years ago .. arcade is a one way trip leading into madness ..

I really liked the video of how it was.  Looks like an amazing arcade, and such a shame it is now a pile of rubbish.  Is it possible to upload the video with the actual sound from the arcade rather than music?

It is a shot in the dark but would there be a gaelco speed up 2 player be around.
I only need the middle between the 2 cabs.
I don't care if it is broken or beaten up.
On the video i see only 1 cab maybe there is a second one somewhere.

There is a guy in the UK trying to restore a Taito Field Goal upright but gave up because he couldn't find the marque, spinner & board set. There is a side view of a cab in the "wreck" video (a classic Taito/Taitronics with an American football player on the side). If you can strip the parts off it you'll likely save another cab...

If I go there a 2nd time I will pull out at least the bezel and the controlpanel of that Field Goal-cab. They're both in great shape and I would be happy if I could help to save a machine :)  Unfortunateley no PCBs or marquee....maybe one of the other guys did take it from there and we can get it as well.

edit: I cannot remember such a cab like Time Traveler...sorry :(

Folks, please post pictures or at least link to pictures so we know what we are supposed to find  :-\

This one?

I cannot remember that, too. Maybe other people already pulled it.

Ol, where did you spot that Time Traveler? Picture or video with time, please.  There is so much stuff and rubbish and there is no light so it's really a PITA to find stuff...even if you have no clue where to look.

Hi!

The Time Traveller is in this video, which shows the place with people in playing the games and having a good time:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=xnkyA3yrUYY

Time Traveller flyer: http://flyers.arcade-museum.com/?page=thumbs&db=videodb&id=1213

The Grand Champion cockpit is laying on it's back - the bezel looks complete and not smashed. Flyer:

If you can help with any information or parts that would be FANTASTIC!!!

I think I got it in the video. The cab on the right. AFAIR it wasn't there anymore on Friday....or at least not at this place. I will see if I can find it.

Does somebody know the driving cab on the left? This gone as well but I could save the bezel.

The steering wheel looks to have the Kee logo on it, but that doesn't say much, the cab doesn't ring a bell...

Post by: caincan on March 05, 2015, 08:07:33 PM
yep or what we read of..  but i assimilate it about "mental" issues  we all can have at a high point of collecting unusual stuff and become crazies..  (lunacity had psychiatric troubles.. vossens.. well it's weird too..  that wouldnt be the least.. and loads of people cant figure we can handle this at a point,  perhaps they are right..  or we are beyond this point.. and that is sometimes danger..)

All I know about Peter from Luna City is that the issue was a divorce. I don't know the details and I don't have to know, it's sad as it is....but I have Peter on my friends list on Facebook and AFAIK he's doing OK now.

But yes, you never know....it's true.

Title: Re: Cry for arcadetina
Post by: Luigi on March 08, 2015, 11:21:31 AM
Bartie, please listen to me. I really recommend to go there by daylight. The place is a complete MESS and the danger of stumbling over some of the debris in the dark and getting serious injuries is very high!! Plus you won't see very much unless you install some serious lighting to light up the whole area.

Go on Sunday, or rent a room in Worms from Saturday to Sunday. This place is abandoned (except the assholes who go there to even increase the mess) and there's a decent distance to a hous with people living inside so no one will be disturbed on Sunday.

And don't forget to bring a cordless screwdriver. You also might need some drills to remove rusted screws....guess where I know from

Ol, I already pulled the bezel of the Grand Champion. You never mentioned the other parts, only the bezel. The controlpanel was broken, what could be pulled is the wheel, the shifter and the gauge(s). Don't know if the wood with the score display can be easily removed. We (ajhippel and I) had some trouble getting the bezel out. We had to go from the back and removed the monitor. Maybe it's only removing some screws to get the whole thing out.

The controlpanel and the bezel of the Field Goal are gone meanwhile, don't know who got it now  :-\   Marquee and PCBs had already been removed before.

Good luck, guys!

I don't know who pulled all the PCBs but the only PCBs (except monitor chassis) I have found was a Midway Z80-Board (Bowling Alley) and the Sound-PCB in Smash-TV.
There are no PCBs left in the remaining cabs.
