Hey guys. Last weekend I went for a little road trip.
I got to pick up this little cab:

and I brought it to it´s new base:

I met great guys on this trip. Thank you Erik, Marco, Ulli, Oliver and Matthias for making this 23 hour ride an experience of a lifetime (we nearly lost our lifes that night, too :D ).
Erik... thank you soooo much! And to the other guys: I hope you are happy with what we brought to you. ;)

Alpha1 has a few, and one of them looks like new.....best one I'e ever seen and the story how he got it is one of the best I have heard about getting a cab.... :)
Hi (Noel) also has one too but is he still around ? I contacted him about his amplifone boards many moois ago but heard nothing back....
Speleo_DE has one too, another friend who seems to have "vanished from the scene"......
Then there was Luc from Belgium who has an upright and a cockpit plus an empty cockpit shell, but I don't know his current situation.
Now....someone needs to develop that Internet connection kit and modify the code so we can fight eachother online already ! ;);)
You do know the SW hardware already has an RS-232 port to hook up two cabs right ? :D

we will look into this. :D
the problem is: what mode would be possible for the game that would benefit from online gaming?
savekit is possible for sure... but it would rock to do something even more stunning.

I think Jed Margolin mentioned they experimented with it but it didn't work out great. (hence the unused RS-232 port).
Honestly I think it would need a LOT of programming to make it a two player game, either fighting against eachother (yes I want to be Vader ! ;) ) or co-op.....I'm not even dreaming about multi-player.....

it would need an INSANE amout of programming. it would actually need a completely new game. maybe a special co-op or battle-level.
too much work for Jochen i guess. i will ask him anyway. :D

Might be easier to make a new game on a PC ..... ;);)
By the way the serial port is not really Rs-232 but one of POKEY's serial ports, see drawing.
Gonna hook up my scope to it if there is actually still something going on at that port....always wondered about that :)

it was great meeting you guys on saturday night at 10 pm! what a weather you guys brought with you - and what nice machines 8). thx to everyone involved for making this happen, i'll update my storage / gameroom thread over the course of the next few days. and of course congrats on your cockpit catch, stefan, what else is missing to complete your collection?

hm.. what is missing? q-bert went to Jochen.. so that one is missing.
but what I would REALLY love to have is one of the iconic laserdisc-games. DL or Space Ace would be nice. Not the best games on earth... but my collection is not complete without such a cab.
Hard to find here though... :(

Mathias has a Cobra Command, currently equipped with Firefox. Don't know if he wants to let it go, but maybe worth a try. I could ask him on saturdays.
