Title: The Zaccaria WWW Picture Archive 2013
Post by: PaulSwan on January 07, 2014, 07:16:12 AM
Finished sorting out last years pictures from around the web...

http://www.zzzaccaria.com/photos_www_2013.htm (http://www.zzzaccaria.com/photos_www_2013.htm)

Notable finds...
1) A Fantasy was found.
2) A factory The Invaders conversion of Dodgem surfaced (I acquired this).
3) More hints that a Phoenix may exist in an Astro Wars style cab (control panel & curved marque found).
4) Eyes in a full-size upright found.
5) Track and Field in the late Universal style (likely Associated Leisure, same as Hyper Sports) was found.

All good stuff ;)

Paul.

Yeah awesome to save all that info !! Would be extra cool if you could include links to the original threads.

Also reminds me that I still have a Hantarex 250 power supply for sale, condition unknown.

This picture is very interesting for another reason too....there's a Namco Tank battalion in the background.....anyone knows what happened to it ? Béla ?

You mention that Béla posted about this but I can't find the thread.....?

As I told it before, it is always the highlight of the year to see Paul's latest archives. :spaceace:
I didn't know that another Scorpion appeard last year, do you think that is the original glass bezel in it?
About the Tank Battalion, it was not me me who found that barn, just spotted the Laser battle on the pic. :D

That's quite a bit of tracking & correlation, in addition to squirrelling away the pictures ;)
Paul.

What are the odds of finding one of these in the US??!

Not very good, John. Probably 0.001% or less. The only Zacc piece "commonly" found stateside is Quasar. Being an original game that makes sense. Otherwise, I did spot a Zaccaria Frogger at live auction once. And for what it's worth, there are a few Sonic Missile Commands and Asteroids that I've seen.

That sucks, Seth! That cabinet ROCKS and I really like the game too. It's just so odd!

I have a spare and very nice all original Nintendo Donkey Kong. Anyone wanna trade for a Zaccaria Crazy Kong? :D

I guess shipping kills the fun  ;D

I am repro-ing the sidearts (https://www.dragonslairfans.com/smfor/index.php?topic=2779.0) and have a scan of the bezel (https://www.dragonslairfans.com/smfor/index.php?topic=2309.0).
The Control panel  (https://www.dragonslairfans.com/smfor/index.php?topic=2271.0), Marquee and cabinet outline i have available (http://vectorlib.free.fr/CrazyKong/) in vector, so you could do a scratch build   ::)

I do have a 2 spare board though  :D

one is Original Falcon , the otherone is a bootleg.

I can give you one if you like, Eurocade is the pickup place  ;) ;D

Getting the Nintendo cab over here is not the problem (any more), but how to get the CK to USA?

Too bad that digital cameras weren't common when my buddies and I started this hobby years ago. I will never forget the sight of rows of dozens or maybe even hundreds of Zaccaria cabs, even stacked ontop of one another when we first visited a big wholesale/used games dealer. Such pics would make a nice addition to the picture archive, you guys would drool  :D ;)

one wonders what the hell happened to those machines

Well, as far as I know many were imported to eastern europe etc., but I am not sure on that part.
What I know for sure is that the rest became ashes when the huge warehouses burnt down to the ground.

Even sadder when I think of all the non Zacc dedicated cabs that burnt as well.

I have (2) ORCA Crazy Kong boards. Are those any good? My friend is making me a JAMMA adapter. I thought about making a CRAZY KONG cabaret. Wouldn't that be cool?

we are doing a highscore savekit for Crazy Kong with highscore-upload, too.
I really want this one for my own little baby.. pretty much my very first project ever. it has a crazy kong board in it.

not as cool as a zaccaria crazy kong though. :)

Nope! No one took me up on my offer. :)

Are the dedicated Zaccaria Crazy Kongs rare in Europe?

The smaller ones pop up 2-3 times a year here, but never saw the full upright with the bended marquee (except mine). ;D
About the Ck pcbs, I try the find all my boards and make a pic from all variants.
If I remeber right, the colours are different in some versions.
