Happy new year!!
I have a rock ola armor attack completely converted, only the wood can be saved side arts are in good shape too) so I have to find CP, Marquee, Glass, excluding the filling at the moment...
I can see rock ola parts are very difficult to find, on the contrary cine parts are not so rare (actually I don't know where to find the glass only)
Do you consider a plausible solution to restore the cab with cine parts?
or, in other words: if I do that are you still my friends? haha

First of all it is your machine so it's totally up to you :)
Yes of course we would still be friends and yes of course that would be a totally acceptable solution ! Apart from The Rockola AA that I found in Belgium yours is the only one I know of in Europe, and there aren't that many in the US either. IMHO it's better to have a working machine playing the original game with a cine monitor than en empty shell ;)
However, my question is, will the external parts fit ? I mean is the Rockola shape the same as the Cine ?

Actually i don t know. CP is coming, i ll check soon. If CP fits i m confident the rest fits too

Almost....but close enough to swap out the parts and artwork...
The Cinematronics has the cab recessed under the CP, the Rock-ola goes straight down. It's just a very minor difference, everything else looks pretty much the same:

i think beside his own forum, klov is the only arcade related forum he has not been banned yet..

from a business point of view it is completely my fault if something happens to an item while shipping it to my customer.

I didn't forgot to update you about this project.
You know I had some problems in this period so I suspended most of my hobbies...
I had no news about Rock-Ola parts on the other hand I found some cine parts.
This is the situation now.
PARTS
- Control Panel: YES I HAVE, CINE VERSION
- Marquee: YES I HAVE, CINE VERSION
- Bezel: NO I HAVEN'T, WTB ORIGINAL BEZEL OR, IF AVAILABLE, A FILE TO PRINT IT ON MY OWN
- Monitor Overlay: NO I HAVEN'T, WTB ORIGINAL OVERLAY OR, IF AVAILABLE, A FILE TO PRINT IT ON MY OWN
- Boardset: YES, I HAVE
- Monitor: I have but a new one is better*
- Power Brick: NO I HAVEN'T. I have a compatible power brick found in a RIP OFF bootleg I parted some years ago. It's a good start but if someone has one...
*"a new one is better" means I have some projects open.
- Star Castle (it should be compete)
- Armor Attack (this project)
- Space Wars (picked up from Bruno last year)
Space Wars hasn't a monitor inside and collecting all spare parts I have in my garage I can assemble only one monitor (mainly I miss a second deflection yoke).
One solution could be to sacrifice my Space Wars Italian version ( http://www.vernimark.com/?cat=7 ) but it's a pity.

That's the wrong one, that's for the original Cinematronics cab.
The Rock-ola had a different, much more plain bezel, just some lines:

The one on Speleo_DE's machine is not the correct one either, it's from another Cinematronics game IIRC.
I wonder if that was a factory thing though....wouldn't surprise me if they didn't have their own bezel (yet or anymore) and put one they had lying around instead....

Can't be coincidence. I already thought so....factory thing.....the Belgian operator where I found it usually never changed anything on the cabs....
So....pretty safe to conclude that this is the one Rock-ola installed......unless, in some magical way, that very machine found in the UK ended up in the Belgian warehouse....but I guess that didn't happen...right ?

Yep. I already have a CP and Marquee from a cine version. I was thinking to start the resto with cine parts that are more easy to find.
Then I can take time to look for rock ola parts :D

Can someone scan the rock-ola marquee? in this way we can save both versions

I could see most of the rock-ola armor attack have the star castle cine bezel,
so, making a summary
ROCK-OLA components
CPO: vector exists
Marquee: a bad scan exists (attached)
Bezel: a bad scan exists (attached), a good scan exists on coinopart, see star castle
CINE components:
CPO: a bad scan exists (attached), a good scan exists on coinopart
Marquee: a bad scan exists (attached)
Bezel: vector exists

Vernimark, I see you did vector artwork for this Rock-Ola Armor Attack marquee on IG. I'd like to get vectors of the marquee If you could manage that, or low res png 50dpi 4000 pixels wide, or I could simply make my own vectors from scans you used to make your own vectors. I'm making 8k MAME overlays of all the Rock-Ola cabs. Would It be possible to get this marquee artwork? This is my work in progress Rock-Ola MAME overlay with Jump Bug pieces for reference. Cheers.
