Guys, if you didn´t already guess it from the recent pics of wrapping in cabs, The Big Cab Transportation Day is due, tomorrow to be exact.
Ecerywhere h The Netherlands cabs will be transported, from secret locations to the soon to become center of the Retro Gaming Universe, which is >>> HILVERSUM
YEAH!!
I know, The Retro Game Experience is still (only!) one week away, but these delicate machines need time to acclimatize once they arrive in a new environnement. :)
To get you in the mood, here are some pictures of tonight´s activities:
To start, this is a familiar van, the same one that Gyruss and I used during our UK raid last year. It is huge:

with lots of space:

In it went 7 cabs
(http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f307/ckong65/Eurocade%202013/Cab%20Transport%20Day/P1040961_zps4bda7071.jpg) (http://s50.photobucket.com/user/ckong65/media/Eurocade%202013/Cab%20Transport%20Day/P1040961_zps4bda7071.jpg.html)
Which were hard to find back once placed neat and tight
(http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f307/ckong65/Eurocade%202013/Cab%20Transport%20Day/P1040983_zpsf446793b.jpg) (http://s50.photobucket.com/user/ckong65/media/Eurocade%202013/Cab%20Transport%20Day/P1040983_zpsf446793b.jpg.html)
And still lots of Space (the cargo area is 6m tall, of which about 2 m is used), which will be filled tomorrow, more than once!

Allright guys, if you have them, then please post pictures of your Eurocade 2013 cab transport here, in this thread.

Holy crap, that van is even longer than I had expected !!!
Too bad I am not allowed to drive it.
You see you need a "big trailer" license to drive this. Up to a certain year you got that "for free" when you got your normal car driver's license but I think I was 1 or 2 years "too late" for that...and now you have to do a separate exam......you see Erik is just a bit older than I am ;D ;D ;D ;D
Anyway, Erik will not be known as CKONG anymore but as "Trucker' rick" ;D ;D
By the way, that assistant looks lovely even with working gloves ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
Wow, that's a lot of space......
-
Awesome! it's going to be a very hard day but i'm also looking forward to it.
See you tomorrow at the first stop guys! :D
-
Coffee will be hot and ready ;D ;D ;D
-
Guys I ' m proud of you. The work you are putting into eurocade. Big hand allready. My zacc frog has new locks and is ready for transport from its layer in Oldenzaal.

Coffee will be hot and ready ;D ;D ;D

Thanks to a joint effort today of Team Eurocade and Team Nozomi, we managed to transport about 30 games from several places in Holland to Hilversum, in preparation for the upcoming event.
This is just a small part of all the games (arcade and console) that will be present, and of course we are also very happy with the contribution of you guys here. Together we will make this a historic happening. :)
Here some pictures (we want pictures, don´t we?)

Spotted - nice cab. Too bad it was in the tent to the left.
-
Yes, a "dead end" is not the best spot to be in (not for sellers' either I'd think), and it was way too light for the monitor to produce a decent picture....on the other side, the artwork and it's colors, especially the sides looked awesome :)
We still talked to a lot of people and handed out lots of flyers.....
We also had some Murphey's law going on because the monitor didn't work when the Centi arrived there. There is a weird set of 4 big fat resistors on the edge of my G07 chassis. I checked other pictures and there is normally just a wire there so no idea why they are there....
Anyway, one soldering had broken loose. Quickly found and relatively quickly solved :) (McGyver style).
Lucky I had my tools with me :)
-
Here some pics :)
Erik testing if I fixed the monitor properly....
-
one more...
It was funny, some younger people (remarkably lots of girls, Centi still draws female players somehow :) ) had to be explained how to start a game.
However, this young daughter said "dad I want to play too, look, it's for two and pointed on the P2 button....however dad was already too far away back in his younger years....... ;D ;D ;D
-
did you unwrap and transported from hilverum ? :o :o :o
-
did you unwrap and transported from hilverum ? :o :o :o
No, Pieter transported it to Deurne and there we unwrapped it. And we handed out hundreds of RGE flyers, so much that people got sick of it. ;D ;D ;D
We received plenty of possitive comments and lots of people already heard about the upcoming event through game sites, the advertising on digital billboards and of course the publicity on GeenStijl.
-
So cool that you both were there. Andre saved the day with his superior technical skills and Erik was a great promoter (and you were right about the posters ;)). Thanks for putting in so much time and energy, the Eurocade after this one is going to feel like a walk in the park. :)
-
Nothing superior about finding a broken of pack of huge resistors and fixing it ;)
-
Operation Mortal Kombat has started
-
Woah, 5 buttons for a single game? :D

this is such a good cab for Eurocade. A nineties classic and still really popular.

Well, it's up and running dowstairs, will post some pics later if my cellphone is powered up again

You guys are great. I would not consider of de-assembling and re-assembling a wooden game, but you just do it. :) And next week you can do it again.
See guys, it is not a big deal to come and bring a game.  ;)
-
Guys, here's a picture of the unloading area...
Take the left most lane and drive all the way down to the doors on the side.
On the right it's the entry of the parking garage but take care, low cars and vans only !!!!

OK, cabs loaded and ready to leave....on saturday (early) morning :)
I see you're bringing some bar stools/ chairs for the cocktail... very thoughtful, but no need to bring those.. :)
We have matching stools for all the sit down cabinets/cocktails/candy's and we would like to keep one style.
But thanks for thinking ahead. :)

Very very curious how it will look like in real life (the build quality i mean) when you have put it back together again for the 2nd (?) time. (these cabs aren't build to be completely taken apart). Will see saterday or sunday.
Thumbs up, for getting such a cab on the 2nd or 3rd floor and back down again and vice versa!
-
it is OK, in the past we already took al the nails out and screwed it together
wouldn't do it very often, ofcourse.....
-
ready to go
-
André, if you're fed up playing MK just give me a sign (i.e. a loud cough) and I will 'accidentally' pull the plug ;D
-
Pulling out a vectrex stand buried all the way back of a container full of cabs...
It involves a lot of cab surfing but it's done :)
