Title: C64 drawing
Post by: slowcade on June 13, 2013, 06:48:29 PM
The demoscene on the Commodore 64 is still alive. More so than on most other platforms.  :)
Raffox came 4th in the mixed graphics competition at the Flashback 2013 party with this rendition of Dirk:

Knowing the C64's limitations, it's quite nice.  :spaceace:

Yes, that's a cool one.

I didn't have a C64 at the time. I was in an other 'team'  ::) ... I owned an AMSTRAD (Schneider) CPC 464, and I was very pleased with the port of the game on that machine.
Note there was already a technical trick on the presentation screen

 All that 'presentation' screen is in 'mode 0' (160x200/16 colors), except the scrolling text part which was in 'mode 1' (320x200/4 colors). Mixing modes wasn't possible without special assembler tricks!  8)
