Title: Graphics artist help required for some grafitti
Post by: Purity on January 27, 2013, 11:52:54 PM
Hi guys

I'm looking for some asistance from a graphics artist.  Basically what I want to do is get a local grafitti artist to decorate the walls of my arcade room, in the style of 80's arcade games.

But, not being that great at art myself it's difficult to get over exactly what I want, and as they say a picture tells a thousand words.

So I'm looking for some help, with designs which I can pass on to the graffiti artists so he can carry out the work.

The other option is any designs that someone might have already done that incorporates 80's games

The idea I've had so far is qberts qubes in a pyramid, with qbert in the middle with the speech bubble "@!#?@!"

The pyramid set in space, so you can incorporate some asteroids, and space invaders

Also was thinking about Donkey Kong on top of the Pyramids throwing down barrels, and some of the Mario ladders placed against the Qubes, with Mario located near the bottom.

I basically want to incorporate as many games that I can without it looking too crowded.  Any thoughts or sugeestions would be appreciated

I had my wall done by a grafiti guy, but I really wanted a piece in my room with some characters around it. The result is this:

Personally I think it's best to let the creativity of the artist do the job, off course you can talk things trough and give him some inspiration (pics, let him play the games, etc)

Do you only want the charcters on your wall? Or also some text?

That's pretty cool, and similar to what I'm looking for.  Integrating a few games which has been done really well here.

He's asked me to think about 3D letter styles and what might be bursting out of the wall  - Bombjack in your case

Not sure about text though

We had a lot of game heroes printed out before we got started. But it was hard to get a lot of them on the wall keeping it coherent. I can easily look like just a bunch of game figures on a wall
