As you guys probably know by now, Aart van Vliet is going to try to break his own World Record on Galaxian during Eurocade 2012 ( more info: http://eurocade.eu/Eurocade/Galaxian_World_Record.html )
We will be streaming this event on Ustream so that everyone around the world will be able to follow it !

Ustream has free apps for iOS and Android and of course you can watch from PC and Mac via the browser too.
The "bad" thing is that there is no fixed Internet connection at the location so we will have to use a 3G connection that is specced to 1 Mbps upload speed (probably a theoratical speed), but we will have to do with it).
Coming Sunday August 26 we will be testing the entire World Record set up including cabinet, UPS, cameras etc. and also the streaming. Aart will be there too for some practice games and to see if everything is set up properly and nicely for him
We will be using a UPS (Uninterruptable Power Source) during this record try because we want to make as sure as we can that we have no spikes or glitches or even power-out (pretty rare here) to kill the try. Of course the battery capacity is limited, but we figured it would be a smart idea.
You are invited to watch the test broadcasts next Sunday and report your viewing experiences.

Gonna try something here....this is basically intended for the guys who (unexplainably) are not at Eurocade 2012 but DO want to see Aart's WR try:
Ustream puts ads in the video when broadcasting from a free account.
A basic account that will prevent you guys from seeing ads would cost $99
If enough of you guys chip in a couple of bucks we can do this broadcast ad-free.
The Eurocade team puts 10 bucks in the pot to start with, so only 80 to go.

Yeps, I have a video from last year at the 'cade2011, where you can see it... but I don't remember how to perform it :-X This time I won't miss it! :)

Yup, he Is the one who discovered it. If you have yellow or red aliens still around you can't do it.
That is, you can, but then they won't bomb you only for 255 seconds. (anyone who doesnt understand why that value is 255 has not been programming 8 bit computers..... ;D)
If you only have blue or purple aliens left they will not bomb at all.
You have to leave one alien in the formation too. It's amazing and he did it a couple of times today, it would give you a couple of minutes to relax and or do some natural things....;)
But Aart says he still doesn't want to do it if he is over a certain score....

Thanks to Aart himself we are down to only 55 dollars to get ad free live streaming of Aart's WR attempt.
I am a little bit disappointed because EVERY donation has been done by people who will be at Eurocade.....I had expected some people who are going to watch this to chip in, even it's just 2 or 3 bucks.....
