Did you guys know this:
http://arcade.chezsuys.com/PP2Cabs.html
Only after reading this I remember seeing pics of the US one, but I think I am more "used" to the Irish cab.
Anyway Joe (JC Arcade) from the KLOV forum asked me if I had come across parts for the Irish PPII cab. He's mainly looking for a Control Panel but also bezel and marquee.
Let me or Joe on KLOV know if you have anything or know something for sale.....
Thanks !

Interesting read, thanks for the link André.
A scan from the bezel and marquee is doable on my irish built one if he can't find an original. ;)
-
Thanks for starting this thread for me. My registration here just got approved. I love this cabinet but it's been damn near impossible trying to track one down here in the states, so I am considering building one from scratch. Before I do that, I want to see if I can track down the cabinet hardware first. Ideally there is a completely trashed cabinet somewhere that would make a nice donor for this project.

Goodluck on your project !

barry has a pp2 for sale, it's missing the monitor and pcb: https://www.dragonslairfans.com/smfor/index.php?topic=3385.0

right, that's the one that originally came from me (https://www.dragonslairfans.com/smfor/index.php?topic=3021.0). still at chris' place if i'm not mistaken!!!
-
there you go! ;D
-
ha, I just arrived at a motel near Laconia (NH), and they have a little arcade with two pinballs and guess what, a Pole Position. No PP II though, or else I could have stripped it. ;D
Oh yeah, tomorrow is showtime at FS, all day long. 8) I got my coupon ready. :D

That is just torture seeing that! Will it fit in a FedEx box ;D. Must resist the urge to ask to part out a complete cab like that.

don't resist, just ask! barry wants to get rid off it, you need the parts - it's a win-win situation!!!
-
Yes, just ask him, and maybe Chris can send it to you, but he seems pretty busy atm.
Edit: Another one just popped up and it's located in my town: http://verkopers.marktplaats.nl/6005170

Thanks everyone. PM sent to Barry. I love a hobby where crazy requests like this are taken seriously. ;D
Now, who is going to volunteer to take the cab apart and take measurements? ;)

I'm having a hard time translating that auction page. When does the auction end and is it in working condition?
-
Marktplaats doesn't work like ebay. So no time limit or highest offer is the winner. Most time i send them an email and take things from there.
The machines is non working, there's supposed to be a problem with the electronics(?) and it comes with spare (electronic) parts.

Uhhhh, whatever happened to keeping old original cabinets complete and restore them ? Sorry, I don't agree. If it was a totally gone cabinet, OK, but this....
...then again, everyone can do with their cabs what they want.
-
Marktplaats is something like Craig's list.
-
isn't that a bit of a devils dilemma? I mean, we all like decent original parts, they have to come from somewhere.
I personally don't care about a pp2 upright being parted, you see them all the time, but i can understand if other people do.
-
All the time ? Really ? Must be that I'm not that interested in the game...
I just fool myself thinking those parts come from big warehouses full of parts only............. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Lol, comment of the day!!!!

Well, I definitely lean towards keeping cabs complete unless they are some generic JAMMA cabinet. I spoke with Barry and Chris via PM yesterday, and though they said I could have the cab (or parts in this case), we agreed instead to give it to someone Chris had mentioned it to in Belgium who will be restoring it with a monitor and boardset.
When I first spoke to Level42 about this, I mentioned that ideally I would find a waterdamaged cabinet that I could take the parts from guilt-free. There has to be one in that old warehouse full of parts, right? ;D
It's sad (or wrong?) I know, but I'm rooting for that cab on Marktplaats to have some serious issues!
-
It has electronic issues ("not working") he says, and he mentions "more electronics" could be included....I expect he means another PCB (set) ? or monitor chassis ?
-
Still interested in finding parts, particularly the control panel, if someone happens to know of any available.
-
How come none of you guys mentioned this cabinet was made of gold? ;D

Just for fun offer 200 bucks... ;)
Hey it's Irish, that's rare in the US ......and it's working !!
-
I recently bought 3 of the irish ppII cabs. All cabs in bad condition. I am therefore parting. Have good bezels Marquees etc. Metal work is showing signs of corrosion. Have all internalls though no way of checking that they are functioning but reasonable prices. pm me with what you need.
-
Hi, I am not looking for those parts but Joe in the US is, please PM him at JC Arcade
-
Currycowboy sent you a PM.

I can vouch for currycowboy.
