Title: Asteroids Sidearts
Post by: bencao74 on May 09, 2012, 10:25:55 AM
Hey,

I`m doing here a Asteroids Restauration.

http://bencao74.blogspot.de/search/label/Asteroids

I`ve found some side artworks in the internet, but I want to print them myself:

Can anybody help me with a Asteroids Sidearts vector file?

Bye

Jochen

Huh, that side art still looks great ! Why replace it, esp. with a DIY print ??
I'd just touch up the places where the black is missing....

Better to spend your money on one of those brand new CP's with silk screening on the metal :) (if you haven't done yet so of course ;))

I`ve problems to remove this black stripes on the sidearts... This was the reason why I was thinking about a new one...

Ah, you need this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/60-MAGIC-SPONGE-ERASER-CLEANING-CLEANER-/390084082739?pt=UK_HomeGarden_CLV_Cleaning_CA&hash=item5ad2d2bc33#ht_4318wt_802

"Magic sponge". With some water you should be able to get that off. Do be careful though, these sponges "sand" the surface on microscopic level so don't go wild with them....

I can check the HD full of artwork it's probably already there....

Apart from that it is available from Arcadeshop.com:
http://www.arcadeshop.com/pics/asteroids-sa.jpg for 135 bucks. Pretty reasonable price without all the hassle.

But I am pretty sure that Bencao's can be cleaned with the magic eraser....

Let`s see if that Dirt Rubbers do the trick.

For the scans I need a flatbed scanner first. :)

You need half a terabyte drive.

Looks like the Asteroids isn't on there though, very strange for one of the most popular games ever....

If you are here anyway feel free to "have a look" at my Wii too ;););)

I've scanned 26 pics on 600dpi each 110MByte. I`ve now 2.5Gbyte Asteroids scans :)

No, because the dirt rubbers takes 14 days shipping time. I hope Etienne can make some digital cleaning as well ....

I`ve asked at some bigger warehouses, but no luck.... Even it was quite difficult to get a new cheap flatbed scanner. Only the all in one units are available everywhere.
