Title: Atari (?) Over / Under Coin Door & pcb's - FOR FREE
Post by: joeks on February 21, 2012, 09:53:53 AM
Anyone interested in my Over / Under coin door?
I have no use for it anymore.
It has to go, altough the cat doesn't like the thing gone.

It's for free. Pickup prefered, else you pay postage.

The pics are BEFORE professional power coating (so not done by me).
Now it looks a lot better. Bucket, coin mechs and wiring are currently not assembled (but are included).
Can take a new pic tonight if needed.
Pickup possible in Goes, the Netherlands.

I could use it for my SW cockpit, the lower door has holes and dents which I forgot to fix before it was powder coated.

ofcourse i dont want to take sides, but I think it would look great in the SW from Andre judging from what i saw in real life what is in there now.. (in fact i installed it after the powdercoating) and IMHO it really deserves a better looking coindoor. (no offence ofcourse, the powdercoater did a great job, but the dents where not fixed before..)

and its in the netherlands  ;)

Well Andre,
if you are in the area sometime, you're more than welcome to pick it up :)

I also have a box full of PCB's to get rid of.
Bought them untested.
Most are pre-Jamma, which makes it difficult for me to test them.
Some Taito, some Konami (Hyper Olympics) and a lot of bootlegs (a Ms. Pacman is in there amongst others).

I can take pic's of the boards, maybe some of you can help identify.
That would be fun :)

Sounds cool, some pics would be great. ;)
If there is any Zaccaria pcb, I would take them all and the Hyper Olympic also.

I will take pics tonight.
To be honest, I am curious too of what is in the box :)

There's a Nintendo Mario Bros (or DK3) which I will probably keep for myself,
along with 1 of the 2 Konami Hyper Sports I think.
The rest is up for grabs, but I can't say if they are working or not since I can't test them properly.

In fact Ully was first.
I need it for my Centipede, but, if it's easier for Barry to give it to you, go ahead André ;).
Otherwise, you can give me the shipping cost, Barry, I'm ready to pay the fees.

Thanks for the replies,
glad to know this stuff is more than welcome with you guys.

The coin door is reserved for Andre since he can pick it up.
I am very sorry Ully and JCP, but I prefer pick up.
Maybe you guys can take some free pcb's instead?

Will take pics in an hour orso, kids bathing time first!

Thanks!

no problem at all, i totally understand and as i've said: if noone would have shown interest i would have taken it, but i'm happy to see it go to someone who can actually use it immediately. as for the pcbs, always interested in taito stuff, let's see what you have got!

thx a lot for giving away some of your stuff, really really great gesture! :spaceace:

Ok, sorry for the delay, but here it is.

It would be nice if you guys can help identify some of these pcb's.
Don't know if they are somehow working or easy to fix, but they are all for free.
I'll keep the Nintendo board (but don't need the adapter thing I guess) and one Hyper Sports board.

VERY interested in #16 (nintendo pcb) and one of the hyper sports (along with the "manual")!

i'd also be up for #1 (space cruiser) and those incomplete taito boards (#4 & #6) if noone else is interested in them ...

EDIT: just read that you are keeping the nintendo board for yourself - sorry!

Can't help too much in the identification, but I'm interested in the Crazy Kong pcb and instruction card, Knock Out and the Hyper Olympic/Sports. ;)
Maybe this could help with the Taitos:

Edit:
The blue one is a Pengo boot, there is a black marker sign on it. :D

Monster Lair....... is that Wonder Boy III Monster Lair ?

I'm not 100% sure, but IIRC Wonder Boy PCB's are quite valuable ?

The Nintendo board set is a Punch Out ! The flat-cables and the three-battery compartment give it away (code CHPI)

Confirmation here: http://www.arcade-museum.com/pcb_list.php?manuf_id=1546

(back side here: http://www.crazykong.com/pcbs/P%20-%20S/Punchout.pcb.html)

B.t.w love the coin door !

Post by: level42 on February 22, 2012, 12:11:15 AM
The small Nintendo board probably belongs to the Punch Out, it's a "filter board" with just some capacitors, some stupid FCC rule made this necessary. I always remove them as they can only introduce trouble (extra resistance etc.)

#12 is a bootleg Pengo   (http://www.crazykong.com/pcbs/P%20-%20S/PentoPengobl.pcb.html)

That CK is a bootleg, the second connector is "unconnectable"  ;)
(i have the same here..  also there is no falco logo printed on the pcb)

anyway, still is a nice board  ;D

Thanks so far for helping out identifying these boards.
Since the Nintendo board is a Punch Out, I've decided it's up for grabs as well,
along with the two Hyper Sports.
Was hoping for a DK3 or Mario Bros.

I made up your wishlists so far:

Ully
- Konami Hyper Sports + copy manual
- Space Cruiser
- All other Taito boards

Belike
- Crazy Kong bootleg + art
- Knock Out
- Konami Hyper Sports

Muerto
- Nintendo Punch-Out

Level42
- Coin Door

Chrischris
- Street Fighter 2 Turbo bootleg

Laschek
- Namco Super Pac-Man
- Dribbling

Eric
- Wonderboy III Monster Lair
- Pengo bootleg

Vnera
- Street Fighter 2 bootleg

Etienne
- 2 x MTC 900 manual

Ully
- Nintendo board Punch-Out. (but since Muerto has a non-working dedicated Punch-Out cabinet, maybe give it to him?)

why should i give anything to that british danish dude? ;)

joking aside, of course michael can have it, it's for a good cause!!!

Thanks Ully, for letting the Nintendo Punch-Out go to Muerto.
Wish lists updated :)

Still some unidentified and available people!
Else they are going in the dumpster in a few weeks.
Feel bad about throwing away a Capcom SF2 pcb with minor-defect, DK and Ms. Pacman bootlegs some time ago :(
Giving them away is much better.

Ouch, throwing away is really a shame, at the very least there are always reusable parts like processors, EPROMS and RAMS on them !!

Here's an idea: André picks up the boards for Ully and will drop them at my place when he'll visit.
Ully has some stuff to pick up here too so that would save him shipping.
Meanwhile I'd gladly take the SF2 board (and if you're throwing away other boards I'd take them too if nobody is interested of course).
Many thanks!

Planning is to do the "Chris-trip" before the end of march so that would fit nicely.

I can of course also pick up the boards for Béla if he can wait unitl Eurocade....OR I can ship them back including the fixed WG board.....but noto 100% sure it that will be earlier ;);)

Well, I let you guys decide on how to get the boards to their new homes.
I really don't mind shipping them all, but that might cost a bit and I don't know if it's worth it for untested boards.
A roadtrip or meet at Eurocade sounds better I think.

@chrischris Wishlist updated! :)

#13 might be another Street Fighter II bootleg
#7 is a Namco Super Pac Man
#5 seems to be a Dribbling

I might be interested in #5 and #7  ;)

From the Eurocade webpage;

Quote
Eurocade is a meeting of European collectors of classic arcade (video) games.

A meeting, where the goal is that collectors bring one (or more) of their games with them so all of them can enjoy eachothers’ games...

But of course, the first, and most important goal, is to bring together people from all over Europe who enjoy collecting, restoring, fixing and playing those classic arcade videogames.

It is ofcourse a goal and the whole idea behind eurocade , but not a requirement.

In your case there is nothing you can bring because an original DK is already there..

I hope these still got the data in the eeprom's...

they look "open" to me instead of sealed..

at least the batteries are removed, so its possible that there is no acid damage

I think those eproms must be exposed to daylight for a longtime until the data takes damage.
If even if they are corrupted, just erase and reprogram, the data should be easily available  ;)

@joeks: thanks!

I have plenty of boards (also in cabs) with uncovered EPROM windows. There's no problem unless you put them in direct sunlight for a very long time....

FI my SW/ESB kit came without covers...

Speleo_DE should be able to confirm wether the Model Racing PCB is a Dribbling as he has a working machine.

And, no thanks you're welcome!

@etienne I had a brief look at the board yesterday and didn't see any acid damage at first sight.
The Nintendo filter-board however, has a homemade burnt trace as you can see on the pic.
I tried both sides (part- and solderside) of the Jamma connector when the normal side wasn't giving a picture :) Yeah, real stupid I know.

Not yet Andre,
But we are going to sort that now :)

So, who (on the list) wants their stuff send through post by me,
or who wants Andre to take your stuff so he can distribute it to you guys later sometime.

Please let me know so I can arrange the packages.

How much is shipping to Germany for the two boards?

Hey Sascha!
If André picks up all the boards and it is ok for him to take the "German boards" to Chris when he visits him, I can bring them over here when I for my part visit Chris the first week of April! Just a thought ...

That would be awesome!
You could then send them to me or if you like to pay me a visit - I might have an "MSG" and an "TV Ideal" adapter (adapter to Jamma) for your test station  ;)

let's see, i could pick up the rolling thunder as well ;D (have you noticed, sascha, that the crystal castles remarks have stopped?).

regarding that adapter: as i've said (and shown), there are tons of adapters included, the question still remains what do i do if i want to test a pcb like bubble bobble? what do i need? what do i have to build? perhaps i already have everything i need ...

I would like to have one of the MTC900 Manuals please..

And if the swedish guy dont want the other, i can use both since i got two zacc's with both an MTC900 in it..

trashing them would be a shame, so if you want to get rid of them, i am in for at least one, and if nobody is interested in the other, i will also gladly take that one

Pickup by Andre, is very fine for me  ;)

Thanks !
Title: Re: Atari (?) Over / Under Coin Door & pcb's - FOR FREE
Post by: Laschek on February 28, 2012, 08:42:12 PM
@Etienne and everyone else:

I have about 50 MTC900 Manuals to give away. For free, just shipping.  ;)
Also a few MTC9000 and others. I guess I also still have a few generic Zaccaria manuals, the crappy photocopied ones.

@Ully:

I give you an example, it's really easy. You need a fingerboard, a connector, a few wire clips, and the appropriate pinout of your game.

This is an adapter I made to test Konami boards like Amidar or Time Pilot on my Jamma MAK:

On the left you see the fingerboard with 2x28 pins to fit the Jamma connector of my MAK.
On the right you see a 2x18 pin connector which fits the Amidar PCB.
You take a look at the pinout listing of the game and find the pin where eg. GND is connected. Find the GND pin on the Jamma side and connect them. Do this for all the connections you need. Finished.

Note that in this particular example the adapter can be used with quite a number of games which all use the "Konami Classic" or "Scramble" pinout. This is not always the case. In fact many pre-Jamma games have their own unique pinout.
Plus it is possible that bootlegs may have a different pinout than their original counterparts.
Also have in mind that some boards can't be fully adapted due to strange voltages, special controls, etc. which Jamma doesn't provide. For expample I made I Jamma adapter to test our Pole Position boards. Of course my MAK doesn't have a steering wheel and sound is also hard to connect in this case, but it's enough to see if the board works or not.

Concerning the test station you have:

-Instead of the Jamma fingerboard you need one that fits your "TV Ideal" connector (more pins) or a loom for the "MSG" connector.
-So I suggest you make (or find) a Jamma to MSG adapter or a Jamma to TV Ideal adapter (or both) and adapt your to-be-tested-games to Jamma. Because Jamma fingerboards are easier to find (arcadeshop.de has them) and I guess cheaper than TV Ideal fingerboards or those MSG/Hellomat looms.

I am very interested in the testing of the pcb's. Some boards look better than others, but then again.
looks ain't everything. Hope for you guys you get some working pcb's but I cannot guaranty that.

They were in some guy's storage before I bought them. He never tested them since he was more into pinball.
And I couldn't test them because I only have Japanese candy cabinets (Jamma and no -5V).

Nothing special, just those cheaply done generic manuals which came with mainly the starsplash cabs I think.
I have 12 of them, you can have them all if youi want, I don't need them.

André 1x Hantarex 9000 manual
Etienne 1x Zacc manual
Bela 1x Hanta 9000 + rest of the zacc manuals

Correct?

Etienne, you live close to André? So I send all the manuals to Ully, Bela's are going to be picked up from there and Ully takes the others with him when he visits I-can't-remember-who?
