Title: INSPIRED... I want to scratch build

I'm inspired. Granted I need to finish my Space Invaders upright (I will start a wee topic soon), but Scr33n you have got me on one to scratch build my own "original" cabinet. Any thoughts of where I should go? I do own two Space Invaders (cocktail and upright), so no more of them at the moment.

I did think of re-creating a standard "Taito" cab, but I wanted some of your thoughts. A Galaxian or PacMan... even a Nintendo cab. A RED ONE!!!!???!!!  ;)

What would you guys do? Obviously I would like to start a project that I could get all the parts for... marquee, coin door, cp, etc.

I think a good start is to build a Galaxian Theater, and then see where it goes from there.

a taito is a good idea for a first scratch-built cab! sideart is generic (if you're not doing zoo keeper) and you could throw in a multi-taito pcb!

Do you have any pictures of a Taito cab in your collection Ully? I'd love to see them.

I've heard they came in different colours?
