can you tell me what those "cable connectors" are called and where i can get them? PLUS which tool do i need to install them? a crimper?
thx for your input!

i dont know the english word for it but in holland we cal them lasdopen
normaly evry electro store got them
you dont need tools for them you just turn the wires in
just an example http://www.klusspullen.nl/catalog/446/Overig_installatiemateriaal/Lasdop,_lasklem,_kroonstrip/Conex_lasdoppen/ (http://www.klusspullen.nl/catalog/446/Overig_installatiemateriaal/Lasdop,_lasklem,_kroonstrip/Conex_lasdoppen/)

turn the wires in? on the picture it looks as if someone squeezed this thing together ...
-
“lasdopen” are used in home electrics Fore solid copper wire you turn them in
I think the ones in the picture are indeed squeezed to the wire, sorry don’t know the name of them seen them in some of my own cab’s before

Don't like those. Why noy use these instead:

no real good reason expect for the fact that those "lasdopen" where there originally and are used on other spots on the wiring harness ...

Such things are called "wire-nut"

found those here :

Does RS dont carry these ?
ps they reffer to them as "Nylon insulated close-end wire connector"
hope that it helps..

Anality has it's limits....

the question is: has this limit been reached? :D probably YES ...

The biggest problem with them are that you have to make a PROPER crimp which requires a GOOD crimp tool.
Another problem is that it's a one time only connection. Make it and if you ever need to redo it you have to destroy it.
The strip I suggest (get GOOD quality not the Chinese rubbish that are in the 1 euro bins at the DIY store !)
can be cut to size (so 2 terminals only if needed etc.), and further you only need a screwdriver.
My suggestion is to twist two wires together and mount them from one side. Alternatively, twist the strands on each wire and tin them.

Here in Canada they are as common as water. Every home Reno store carries them. They're also heavily used in the automotive industry. Don't you have a local store which sells car parts for diyers?
