Title: Dimensions or plans for Journey arcade cabinet?
Post by: amadama on August 21, 2011, 03:23:59 AM
Hi guys,
Thinking of building a scratch built Journey arcade machine.
Would anyone have any good photos or diagrams with dimensions for it?
This is the one I'm talking about:
Thanks!
Alex

Edit: Looking around for pics of the Journey led me to this restoration:

Now to get the measurements...
(Is this cab black or dark blue? can't really tell...)

It looks like the same cabinet as Lazarian but with the monitor mounted differently?

If it is, then I should be able to help you out with dimensions.

Paul.

Hi Paul,
It is possible that Lazarian has a similar external shape/dimensions as Journey.
Found this pic on KLOV:

Thanks!
Alex

Edit: Domino Man and Bump n Jump are supposed to be the same cabinet too (just monitor more horizontal than vertical):

AFAIK Domino Man was only a converison kit for Lazarian.

LMK if you want me to get the dimensions for Lazarian - at the moment it's in storage for a couple of weeks whilst I finish epoxy sealing my floor :)

Ping me in a couple of weeks if you still need additional info.

Paul.

Hi everybody.

This is a very interesting project. Journey is my favourite band and my dream is to have a Journey-Cab one fine day. I'm thinking about importing one from TNTamusements (to Germany).

I will follow this thread and help whereever I can :)

The front of the cab is black, the sides are dark blue with sideart stickers. The sideart is available in the net. If you have problems finding them, let me know.

Ahh, more clues rolling in. Thanks Luigi!
I have not found the real sideart for Journey anywhere. (well, maybe here, not sure:

I think I may have the marquee and bezel artwork and I saw where to buy the CPO.

This time around I will use sanded plywood for the build. MDF is terrible in high humidity areas and it's really heavy (although easy to work with).
For the winter I have a couple of projects I would like to work on:
This Journey build
Gorf build (may postpone due to difficulty of obtaining control panel)
Professor Pacman build (may postpone due to difficulty of obtaining control panel)
TRON restoration
Finally finish my Pac-Man build!

Paul,
That's a nice looking Journey.
$1500 + $500-600 shipping is too much for me to handle though.
Best of luck to whoever ends up buying it. Looks great.

Any progress in your scratch build?

Let me point you towards Mikonos. He has artwork for the Journey cab :)
