Post by: polderarcade on November 30, 2010, 10:31:26 PM
Okay it’s time for a little story of last week

Starting Thursday
First sorry I am not really made to make pictures, made some bud not lodes of.

First a little road trip to oost-souburg
(http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i380/polderarcade/kaart.png)

A guy from work was nice to help me out and drive for me. Also it was possible to lend a van from my boss so that will save lots of costs.
The night before the road trip there was only one problem the seller called me he was not able to get ad home in time (oh shit)
But we made a deal, a friend of him that also had a key will place it on a spot where we could find it.
So eventually ad location the key was on the location mentioned, the only problem now is we are whit two people.
And the games are big

And the space where they will end up
(http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i380/polderarcade/DSC02090.jpg)

First road trip done, time for the next
Same day at night 8 o’clock
New transportation it’s a short road trip about 1 km to a friend of mine that has 3 caps in his café for storage
(http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i380/polderarcade/DSC02095.jpg)

Strange animals over here.

not lots of pics but we goanna pickup some pinballs.i now some of you guys don’t like them bud no real game room without any pinballs is my opinion.
Bad thing one is on the secant floor en two on the third floor and no ell fetor .
After some hours of work the pins are at home and in the gameroom also got a nice Nintendo store display from the guy little bit water damage the wood in the pillar is swollen. But for free it’s a nice thing for the game room
(http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i380/polderarcade/DSC02106.jpg)

Nice work Bart, It's good to see that the AB deluxe and the G-loc found a good home. :spaceace:  I'm glad that everything worked out OK. By the way, I noticed that the van doesn't have a tail lift. How did you get those two games in the van? Muscle work?  ;D  I guess they weren't that have anymore seeing that a lot of parts were loose.

I suppose it's now time for you to organize your stuff and do some serious restoration work on some games. Hopefully you will post about it here because it would be great to see the AB and G-Loc come to live again.

I'm sure that one day we will have a nice arcade party at your place, plenty of space!

By the way, I really love your SNES shop stand.

What a great Arcade Life Style week  :P

Congratulation for your first headline here  ;D

Ouch, only 2 guys for loading a G-LOC and an AB Deluxe?  ...even partially disassembled it was to be a real nightmare, wasn't it?
What are you plan for these two monsters? they looks so empty on pictures... Do you have enough electronics parts left to start their renovation?
If not I'm up for G-Loc parts  ::) :P
Nice pinballs of course. Hey, nice to also have a Super Nintendo & Sony PS2 display in a game room.

 :spaceace:

Look at that room, indeed a great collection. I also like your pinballs.

Now you only need a classic like pac man or donkey kong.

As you probably know it is cold as hell at the moment (-10 C. or so because of the windshill factor), do you have your gameroom heated?

Meh... mine isn't heated yet. It's a very dry air. Not much to worry about. The real problems can come when you suddenly _start_ heating or firing up machines because of condensation....

Yes ully you are rite it’s full for now, when I move some stuff I got some space left but for the moment I need that space as a working space

What about the restoration of the two big boys’ they look complete at the firs look
The g-loc will be a nightmare lots of moisture damage sound board print complete corroded elco’s and resistors broken  en the machine itself lots of rust but planning to rebuilt it in time
Afterburner looks better but also lots of work
Only first planning to restore my thunder blade en enduro racer (story will follow) and after that I think of starting on the after burner

Oh and yes its colt no heating in the room when I am working I put on a light  en some machines so the worst cold is gone but need to pick up a heating devise at the local gamma.
So I can work in the room without my hands freezing off
Will shoot some detail pics of the g-loc and afterburner tomorrow

Ps: nuno nice looking headline

edit found some pics on the cam

puh, this looks like a lot of work - but it was cheap, so no complaining please ;)

i guess andre's question is still open: was it difficult to move the AB Deluxe without a taillift?

Sorry people for replying this late was a lidle bid bussy this week
Sick of my job so I quit after 12 years of work, only problem was I needed a new job, bud everything is settled now so back to the games.
To come back to the question:
It was easier than I expected we tilted both games on their back and drove the car backwards to the under site of the game. Then we both pick up a corner and lifted the thing in the car the g-loc was the most difficult because it must be turned in the car but the car was too small to turn in. So we needed to pull it halfway out of the car to turn it site ways, half way we notice id doesn’t fit so disabled the black cover with the exhaust pipe and the top cover.
Finely it fitted with both sits 0.5 cm left over space

Restorations are on a low budget for now because this mound I don’t have much money to spent bud thanks to my parents I god I nice heater to keep the temperature above zero so I can work normal whitoud frozen hands

Started to get the thunder blade working bud will make a new topic for that one
Also got my other toys out of the box, found it on marktplaats for cheap so I think it’s good thing for the game room

Sorry to bump this thread...
I think you may have my old Thunderblade Deluxe there... If you still have it, I have one or two parts that it is missing still lying around my garage...
Also a set of Thunderblade pcb's, untested, if you're interested...

Are you guys power lifters or what, the AB-DLX got 430kg!!!

you've never met Bart.....I'm glad he's such a friendly guy because he's TALL !!!! :)

Im sure they lifted one side or so first and then the back....no idea.....the good thing is that these monsters have wheels....
