A couple of months ago, I had the chance to visit the Japanese Arcade Museum, mentioned in the Galaxian Theater topic.
The owners of the museum were so kind to open the place specially for me and my girlfriend. So thanks again for the warm welcome!

The museum was kinda located in the middle of nowhere, but Ikke and Tom provided us with some detailed directions. So after a 2/3 hour trip we arrived at the museum:

WooT  :spaceace: :spaceace:

thanks very much for these great, great pictures. I love them  :spaceace:

One day I will have a Puckman and a Japanese Galaxian also (please). I noticed that the breakout and one of the geebee's has a joystick, not original, but I'm sure the japanese are aware of that?

Was there much pollution there? I saw a Japanese with a mouth and nose cap?

You must have had a great time there. The Galaxian3 looks spectacular, I have to play it one day (never did).

Yes, they are aware of that, those machines still need to be fixed. The pollution in the city's was quite severe on hot days, the museum is located outside tokyo but still a lot of Japanese people wear those even if there isn't any pollution.
I guess it has something to do with being afraid of viruses like sars, don't really know for sure though.

thanks for sharing.

with regards to the surgical masks, it could mean that that person has an illness and they don't want to pass it onto you. people are polite like that.

The Namco Pole Position is very cool and rare! Did they have the other half?

I have one available if anyone is interested in rare Jap games?

Needs some restoration but has no wood rot or anything like that.

The museum is located near Shoubu Town. 2-3 hours away from Tokyo.

I don't know if they have the other half, i always thought it was an upright. I have also played the one you got in Tokyo, that one was in great/ mint condition. I'll post another report about that place (with some other classic games) when i got the time.

Holy Jesus... this is it!  :-* The pictures from the WORLD FAMOUS Japanese Arcade Museum ... a magical place that includes a rare Galaxian Theater up & running  :-*
That's very cool to open the place especially for your visit... our Japanese friends here are great  :-* In addition of the great games to see/play in the museum, you also have the chance to meet the best specialists of the Galaxian Beast Theater in the world... WOOOW  :P
Thanks for all these pictures, especially the ones around the Theater! Great you played both mission... but like you, my favorite one is the original one : project Dragoon.
Yes, I'm so jealous about all the Galaxian goodies over there  :o The best one is the Galaxian sign... I want one for the big opening of the V(https://www.dragonslairfans.com/smfor/Themes/default/images/post/G3.gif)  8)
Did you also see the Playstation custom adapter they made in order to play the exclusive PSone 'The Rising of Gourb' mission?

Regarding the other games in the place... you can feel the NAMCO influence all around do you? It's probably because a Namco headquarter is not too far, Am I right?
I hope you played Metal Hawk... a very rare game... never seen one for real  :P

Ok, I'll check back the pictures... and be back on this topic for sure :P

Thanks again for this post Gyruss  :-*

For immediate release on homepage of course

Wow. I would have probably (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/Smileys/donkey_kong/bow2.gif) in front of the Galaxian and Puckman. They are holy icons of arcade history IMHO.

Love the bootleg Breakout too. It's funny to see that such a huge name in arcade games started with a bootleg ! :D

Love all the pics, thanks !!!

Very interesting and thanks for sharing !
Impressive collection
This is the first time I have ever seen a japanese Time Traveler machine: the marquee looks different from the one on the japanese flyer.
