Well, the mechanical one's are fun, but I recently played a game that instead of a mechanical "board" has a TFT screen that is heavily protected but still has a touch screen. Using the hammers (You play against an opponent, it's set up like a cocktail) you play all kinds of variations of the "Wack the mole" game and it was GREAT fun. This machine was in the kids section but we played it a lot and all loved it....I forgot the name though :(

Title: Re: Machines for sale in Hungary atm..

if it's cheap, i'd go for it and return it to its former glory. you NEED to have pac-man in your collection, bela :). were there any other games which used the same type of cabinet except pac-man and galaxian?

Yes, Rally-X.

But the CPO is a pretty clear hint that it's likely a Pac....also BLACK coin door (Galaxian is grey).
Title: Re: Machines for sale in Hungary atm..
Post by: Superully on July 03, 2010, 01:48:11 PM
cool - rally-x! imho a great game, but i guess it would be much easier finding all the parts needed to restore it back to pac-man than it would be for rally-x. galaxian is not an option, bela already has one!

btw, once again i can't understand why people don't take the time to take good pictures of the stuff they want to sell. he basically put up the same picture three times!
Title: Re: Machines for sale in Hungary atm..
Post by: level42 on July 03, 2010, 01:58:58 PM
Indeed, a side-shot would tell us so much more....

If you don't have a Pac cab yet, it's a no-brainer to choose between Rally-X and Pac IMHO. But Rally-X _is_ kind of fun, but nothing like the true classic that Pac is.
Title: Re: Machines for sale in Hungary atm..
Post by: gyruss on July 03, 2010, 02:33:15 PM
Why do you guy's like rally x? I think the game sucks, don't like the grapics and don't like the gameplay with the moving playfield.

Title: Re: Machines for sale in Hungary atm..
Post by: Superully on July 03, 2010, 08:04:20 PM
perhaps you can talk him down to 100. of course it also depends on what is still inside the cab, if the original wiring is there, ...

but if i were you, i'd go for it. i still cry about missing that original midway cabinet on ebay germany which went for 1 euro :'( could have been my rally-x :P

It is 330 eur, but I guess it will be around 150 or less in a few weeks, that is impossible to sell arcade machines for a good price in Hungary these days, our country is totally bankrupped. :-\

Szia!

Mielőtt elkezdenél bármit is árulni itt, előbb légyszi mutatkozz be az "all the rest" szekcióban.
Ha a gépekről képeket is raksz fel, valószínűbb hogy lesz rá érdeklődő.

Hi!
Before you start selling anything here, please introduce yourself in the "all the rest" section.
If you show us some pics from your cabs, you should have  bigger interest here.

Mmmmmmm, let's see Béla.....sounds they really REALLY want us to play a game of MK....

Maybe we should open a kickstarter...... if we get the amount of...1000 Euro's each pledged we will both play at least one game of MK during Eurocade, OK ?

I see the following possible pledges:

€2 => Thanks for the help !
€10 => You may watch us play the game
€100 => You will be in the first line to watch us play and may even talk to us !
€1000 => You will get a meet-and-greet with both epic MK players, we'll even buy you a couple of drinks and if you are a beautiful lady we may even take you for dinner......

We promise to use the money for the hobby only so you guys will benefit from it too at Eurocade 2014 !!!!!

The cab from klov

Trivia
Technos produced the original that spawned two other versions: Solar-Warrior by Memetron in the US, and Soldier of Light by Taito in the UK -- both 1987. Soldier of Light was the name on the UK cabinet, but the game showed Xain'd Sleena on the screen with the Taito logo instead of Technos.

I would gladly take it to EC13 of course, but if I go there with a car (not a van) there will no place for a Zacc. :-\
Another option would be to send it to Brussels with my transporter, it usually costs around 70-100 eur for a cab and you can pick it up at my Brother's place anytime there. ;)

Ok, first of all, I didn't recognize the nickname of this guy for first sight on auction site, he is a friend of mine, he is a director of Gingerclown (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YJt5WmXPW8) and Thelomeris (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVhQM0HRxAs).
He has a nice collection of games, but he is not into electronics, my old friend repairs his machines time to time.

Well, there's nothing that could not be fixed. Checking and rearranging the wiring, there's nothgin to be afraid of. HO pcbs are easy to find and it should not be impossible to make a new CP plexi. I'm sure the Hyper Olympic backglass we have here would fit into this cab, too.

If you wait for the 100%-solution you might never have one. I say, make the seller an offer way deeper than what he wanted. Point him to the damages and the broken PCB. Maybe he will go down far enough for you to be happy with :)

I do agree with you. But according to Bela the monitor wasn't that good and needed fixing too. I'm not capable of doing such repairing. To me that is the main reason. The wiring and plexi are fixable for me.

I actually own a working HO PCB, so that's not the issue

there are guys here not too far from your place that know some things about monitors  ;)

Looks like a hantarex mtc 900E in there, plenty of info on that monitor.

I see the monitor is working, and it problably just need some caps here and there (which can be capped completely for not too much money, or measure the caps and see if there is a bad one in there and just replace that)

Like Luigi suggests, maybe try to get it for a lower price ?

Round 2. ;)
Finally we have a deal here for a lower price, I picked up the cab today.
I was pretty sure, that a Hyper Olympic would fit in my car like a charm, but I was wrong, I had to use McGyver effect to fix the trunk with the power cable and a piece of adeshive tape. ;D ;D ;D
(https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-fIMVyrNMENw/UX6buehRE3I/AAAAAAAAHWQ/uHWUkFu-SpE/s512/WP_001685.jpg)

Made a closer investigation and I'm sure, this cab was converted to a gambling machine at some point.

Made some colour settings on neckboard and tried it out with a Hyper Sports pcb, the screen is almost perfect, some beleeding is still there though.

The original H.O. pcb has some sound problems also, the pot is working, all effects and music is there, but in a very quiet way, I guess it is the sound amp.
I hope it is not a problem, that I made some tests. :D
Ohhh, and it is 100% playable. ;)

Thanks alot Bela, I'm so happy....... This game is one of my grails, I'll give it some TLC and it will look amazing with the backglass and new CP

have both but hyper olympic is so much more fun... for beginners and regular players. i might put a board-switcher in my cab some day.. or even better: i might look for a dedicated us cab to put the second board in.

I'm not sure I would sell mine if I will ever have the Zacc version, the Konami/TV ideal Hyper Olympic cab has the best cp to play this game.
