I found a Zaccaria Quasar dedicated on a hungarian auction site, the original monitor glass, cpo and coin door was replaced and there was a Missile Command pcb in it instead of Quasar, but OMG it's an original ZACCARIA QUASAR, so I had to go for it. ;)
Started around 8 friday morning(9th April) with my mini van ;D

Hey Belike this is going to be a very interesting road-trip !!! It's good to see somewhat more Eastern Europe roadtrips !!!
And we wave back at your gf :spaceace:
Love the Quasar side-art !
-
So it was about 300 km and a four hour long roadtrip.
I also bought a very good Cadillacs & Dinosaurs bootleg and a non working Shinobi bootleg with jamma adapter from this guy.
The whole stuff (The Quasar cabinet with the original Data east Missile Command pcb and the 2 bootleg pcbs) was 118 eur altogether, I think I made a good deal.(petrol was sponsored by my company shhhhhhhh.........) ;D ;D ;D
More pics from the cabinet comig soon.
I found an original bezel in Italy and a Zaccaria coin door in England, so now I'm looking hard for an original Quasar pcb and a control panel.
Anthony has a pcb at Quarterarcade, but it has two missing chips, I don't know if it could be fixed or not.
If anybody can help me in this impossible mission, I would be very happy and thankful! :D
-
Thanks Andre, my gf says Cheers for you!
And yeah this sideart rocks, I hope I will able to restore everything to original in this cab. ;D
-
Nice report !
thanx for sharing the story !
Supercool transport !
you see, you dont need a stationcar
Car is loaded, ready to go :D

Now i see where you take your avatar ;)
-
thx for sharing, belike! nice to see a different part of europe for once :)!
-
Nice report Belike, and say hi to your girlfriend for me. You did get a nice cab, I love those Zaccaria's.
By the way, are those radar detectors still allowed in hungary? And you show it so open on youe windscreen. Here in Holland we get a large fine when we get caught with such a device.
-
Yes Erik, the detectors and jammers are legal in Hungary since 2005, but you are right, it's a big risk to use them in several European countries. ;)
Thanks for the "hi" for my girlfriend, she is very happy to hear your greetings. ;D
-
Nice report! - and like Eteinne said, you don´t need a station car :D
also the weather seems a lot warmer in your region - it´s all blooming telling spring is on the way!
- and please say hi to your gf for me as well ;D

Helloooooo :o :D
Did you really travelled for 4 hours with half the cab out of your machine? There are no cops in Hungary? I would not run 100 meters in those load conditions in Italy
-
No it was just 2 hours on the way back ;D ;D ;D
By the way, in Hungary it's "half" legal if you put something heightened colour red to the item you transport, and the cops are extremly corrupt in poor former communist countries, so you can guess what happens if they stop me. ;D
A bit offtopic, some political overview:
Yesterday there were elections in Hungary and the communist party shamefully defeated, so maybe we have a little hope to reduce the 30 years disatvantage that we gained in the last century in contrast to Western Europe.
-

:D
-
Well, looking at the roads they look pretty decent and the cars are very modern now too.....
You guys are on your way up I'm sure !
-
Nice story, congratulations with your cabinet (and your girlfriend) ;)
-
Thanks for this nice story Belike :-*
It's very interesting to see pictures on that part of the Europe... very uncommon ;)
I love the way you protect (or I would say : 'hide') your cabinet 8)

Probably I'll pick up a complete quasar soon...
did you restore completely yours?
;)

Nice save!
It's going to be quite a bit of work to get that back to Quasar - it looks completely gutted save the marque :( When you get a chance, post some pics of the insides.
Paul.

What do you mean by that?
-
I found this cabinet:
but probably in few months I'll have not enough space for it so I'd like to restore it, play a bit, probably have a party with it like "special guest" :P and then Id like to find a new family for that child...
