Happy Easter, my ass !
Up at 6.30 on 2nd Easter day to march with my marching band !!!
Some weird (but honestly a lot of fun) tradition within our club: we start marching through the club's neighborhood from 7.30 every year.
So what you get is sleepy people watching from their homes while still in pajamas, usually with kids. Since the weather is pretty great this Easter I also expect people to come outside to have a look.
Pretty nuts ey, but most people like it (and at least know about the tradition). I always say "what insane guy has got this idea", but in fact our club is so old (118 years) that nobody actually KNOWS the reason why ! :)
However, also always, as soon as everybody starts arriving at the club there's really this "club" feeling about it, and we all enjoy doing it.
It's only a short march of about 45 minutes and afterwards, we have lots of boiled eggs at the clubhouse.
Some people have developed this into what has become known in the club as the "Heinkenen drinking breakfast", but that's for the true die-hards only, usually I skip the Heineken part....too early for me :P

That is insane indeed! :o
I'm glad that it isn't my neighbourhood. I mean, you know that I like this kind of music, and the marching and all, but I don't think that I would appreciate it if a band would be marching through my street at 7.30 AM on a day off.
Nevertheless, have fun.

Haha, yeah, I bet there are more thinking like that. Well in all those years we only received one complaint through e-mail.
We warmly replied with: "Welcome to Slikkerveer" ;D ;D
