I think it would be cool to have a high score section on the forum, so everybody could post their highscores for each particular game. I don't think we would need verification and such because I think we have an honest group here ;).
Of course it's up to the admin who decides what he does with these results ;). I would just like to know if there are more people like me who would like a seperate section for highscores. :pac: :ghost:

If there are lots of yes votes it may be an extra motivation for Bruno to setup the section ;D
-
count me in ;)

In!
-
In :D (but who scores on Buggy Boy ?).
About Power Drift, that will be more interesting !
-
I say yes, but no emulation like MAME. Only real machines set on factory default settings :)
A screen photo wouldn't be a bad thing either!
-
I think mame is the only option if you want some cometition, otherwise there will only be 1 or 2 competitors for certain games. About cheating, if you want to cheat, you can do it as easy on a real pcb as on mame if you really want to. But I expect a little gentlemenship from our group here ;), and there are no prizes to be won either, so there's really no point in cheating.
Of course mame would only work well with the 2-4-8 way joystick games, unless you have analog joysticks, steering wheels, shifters, etc...
Screen photos would be nice for the highest score (if it's really high), for the average scores I don't think it would be necessary.
-
Maby there could be 2 sections, one for MAME and one for "Tha real stuff" 8) :spaceace:
-
At the shmups forum a lot of highscores have MAME or PCB next to them, so you know whether the score is achieved in mame or the real pcb.
I think splitting those will create too small lists imho.
-
you´re right about that, and the way to go is to add how the high score is achieved.

Achieving a high score with a regular version of Mame is a lot different than playing on real HW. In Mame you can pause a game, relax and then continue and this will false a high score. Only Wolfmame could be compared to the real HW since a lot of features like cheats and pause are removed.

Horray!!!! :D :D :D

...but I'm afraid to have not enough time to administrate this section like it should be. Any volunteers to help on this? ::) :P

Yeps Muerto , the template you've used for ROTJ is nice, but it would involve that we have to all register to Twin Galaxies to follow it (that involve a lot of constraints )
I would say the high score section should be very simple : just a rank between members registered here : the rank with the score, the location, the hardware and the date, if possible a picture ;)
But no problem, we can try many solution ;)
PS : I'll check my highscore on ROTJ and update the post ;)

I m not registered at Twin Galaxy, i simply just "borrowed" the world record.
and, my score´s are not uploaded to Twin Galaxies as well...
-
well, as everybody hopefully have seen the high score section is open!!! ;D ;D ;D
I think that scores made on original hardware and scores made on MAME etc. should be in the same schematic... like this:
The reason is that it is easier to maintain, and i don´t use (http://muerto.x10hosting.com/images/ico/mame.gif) ;)
This is only a test, to let you guys see how i could look!
I made it up! - get it?? ;D ;D ;D
