Post by: Etienne MacGyver on February 03, 2010, 08:09:33 PM
As a fan of Discovery's show "How its made" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/How_It's_Made), i saw all the episodes available..

Some have some items that might interrest you guys here.

I am making a compilation of 4 items in one DivX.

as soon as i am done with that i will publish a link.

the 4 items that i put together as a "custom" how it's made are :

1. Pinball machines (a stern lord of the rings)
2. CRT Tubes
3. Change machines
4. Slot machines

And ofcourse without commercial breaks  8)

Download here (http://www.opdenkelder.com/howitsmadecompilationforDLF.zip) (130 mb file, my upload speed is only 1 Mbit so have a litte patience and a cup of coffee  :D)

Better have a good look at the CRT production. I hope it will survive, but I strongly doubt it....

Just watched it, very nice. The CRT production you see here looks highly "customized" CRTs. Certainly no mass production like TV/arcade CRTs ! But this was nice to see, shows much better all the steps than a fully automated line. The CRT is mono-colored only. A color CRT is much more demanding.

I would be interested in what a CRT of that production line would cost.....I think you would be shocked.

Kind of sad to see that fruitmachine production. This is the old Willams factory where they used to make REAL machines like videogames and PINBALLs !  :'( :'( :'(
