Title: Dragon's lair cabinet plans..
Post by: dptwiz on March 04, 2009, 03:54:32 AM
Well, i've come up short on finding a DL cabinet anywhere near ohio. I really need full plans to build my own. I have a cnc machine, so making a bunch would be pretty easy. There was a site, where a guy sold full size templates, i found it and emailed him a month ago to see if they were still available, never heard back from him. The jakobud website plans are vague and inaccurate. I have another set from another site, inaccurate as well!
If anyone can be of any help for a full, very accurate, very detailed set of plans for a Dragon's lair, please contact me! My email is arcadehell1970@yahoo.com and is the best way to contact me. Thanks in advance for any help, Brett

Wow.. i've posted this on several arcade sites and i hear crickets lol. I guess i thought a posted a "hi i'm new thread", guess i didn't! ANyways, i'm 39, father of 4, live in northwest Ohio. I've been collecting arcade games for almost 2 years, i currently have 21 machines. I also have a 4X8 cnc machine, that i use to make reproduction arcade cabinets. I currently have a nice Galaga repro, and working on Centipede at the moment. Again, if anyone can help me out with the dragon's lair plans, i appreciate it immensely!! thanks, Brett

HI Brett and welcome here  ;)

Well, I don't have the full cabinet plan. I've just found an old topic on the friendly ( :-*)  DLP board, right here (http://www.d-l-p.com/community/forums/archives/default.asp?Action=View&MessageID=49942&Archive=Yes&Keywords=plan|cabinet).
Someone seems to have it. Maybe you can drop him a mail?
Of course, I can also help you if you need some measures (but not all of them)  ;)

Like dptwiz, I want built a Dragon's Lair/Space Ace cab ( having time to do... ).  ;)
I contact a person in the DLP board and he sent the plans to me...
The problem is:how convert 23 1/2 inch in centimeter ?  ??? ???
Or similar measures like 13 3/4 or 18 3/8?  ??? ???

DarthNuno: if I send the file to You, can You publish it on the forum?
Maybe need a check for the measures on a real cab and for the diagrams (all hand made!)  ;)

The conversion It's very simple:

for example:

23 1/2

1:2 = 0.5

so 23.5 x 2.54=59.69 cm

13 3/4

3:4 = 0.75

13.75 x 2.54=34.925 cm

Scr33n a question: building Your cabs from scratch, some measures like 59.69 have You made like 59.70? or 34.925 to 34.95?

No problem  :spaceace:

Yes you're right ... 59.69 is 59.70 and 34.925 is 34.9 (difficult to misure 34.95 manually  :?)

No problem  ;)  ;D ;D  ;)
Share knowledge is the best thing to do.
Only one thing to remember: all measures are in inch.

DarthNuno: when You have time, why not do some photos for reference with the built instruction?
