Title: Atari Championship Sprint - To Buy or NOT to buy ????
Post by: Dexter on February 23, 2009, 09:46:04 PM
Ok,

I can get a Championship Sprint cab CHEAP (said to be NOT working) has the boards, monitor and almost complete (no Marquee)

Now I can get ALL the parts needed for this and would cost me LESS than $300 (aus$) all up for a working Championship Sprint.

Thoughts ????

I used to have a Super Sprint and LOVED it, never really played this one. Worth it ??

i'd go for it in a second, although there is A LOT OF cleaning up to do (rust rust rust).

The rust part is okay as I have a few old wheels from my Super Sprint.

One thing I noticed is that the cabinet is a little different than the one I've seen elsewhere. Might have to MOD the cabinet down the track or Repro the cab.

Have a look:

Yeps, it looks like a Paperboy cab, somehow? :

Correct, so do I mod the cab to look the same ? or if the cab needs woodwork then I'll just make a new cab and mod it to be the same as the Paperboy one

Stay tuned

Well after a small search, I've managed to find screen printed sideart (WooHoo) and a control panel and marquee.

Gonna try and collect the game this weekend if all goes okay

I never really played it (from what I remember) but I LOVED Super Sprint.

If I get this cab cheap then yeah I will. I can get all the parts to restore it (and I LOVE restoring) so we'll see.

I would be in your same position,

I loved Super Sprint but this one was not one of my favorites

I played in Rimini when I was a child but I can't say I'm a avid collecotr for that

Think well before do it
